Was that really a Welterweight world title level fight?

Nothing like.
Both these are not troubling any of the top welters.
I think we all knew that when it was announced a world title fight.

115-111 Donovan
114-112 Crocker
114-113 Crocker

Winner by split decision
And NEW IBF champion

Lewis Crocker!!

Fine scores apart from the 115-111 to Paddy. Paddy was poor tonight. He looked gunshy after those two knockdowns. He wasn't winning the rounds clearly. Crocker was using a very basic counter punching style and Paddy got caught and dropped twice, both times with the same punch. The first one was a bit of a slip but it should have been enough of a warning. He didn't impose himself on the fight and make it look like he was the clear winner. I've seen him coast in many a fight e.g the Lewis Ritson one and I never like to see a fighter drawing a fight out for no reason. Leave that to sparring. In the actual fight, get the job done and don't get into a habit of letting rounds go by doing very little. It was smart tactics to make Paddy lead but I expected more from him than that. Very disappointing. I think Crocker deserved the win. With two 10-8 rounds in the bank, Paddy is 4 points down with 10 rounds remaining. He needs to win 4 of those rounds just to be level. Then of the 6 rounds left, he needs to win at 4 of those to get the win.

So Paddy needs to win 8 of the remaining 10 rounds, since Crocker got two 10-8 rounds.

I didn't see Paddy winning 8 rounds.

Mario Barrios holds one of the belts doesn’t he ? I only saw him fight once but he didn’t look noticeably better than these two

The winner of Norman v Haney should be light years ahead of anyone else.

Question is now.

Does Eddie milk a few defences in Belfast for Crocker.

Will he go straight in with Benn a bigger money fight
No doubt early next year. Can he beat Benn? Can Benn make 147 anymore?

Will be they unifying against Norman-Haney?

No disrespect but he’s levels below.

I’m glad to read a bit of common sense on here. Some of the scoring on DAZN had me questioning myself.

I don’t have a problem with a narrow win either way or a draw. I scored it by a single point to Donovan but he wasn’t robbed. Several of the rounds I scored him were very close.

You’re the away fighter & you’ve been put down twice. It’s very unlikely that you’re going to get the benefit of the doubt in several close rounds which is what he needed to win. He had to do more for me.

Agree with this. The final three rounds were crying out for him to close the distance and try to bully Donovan.

To me common sense says pick the softest opponent in the top 15 for a defence at the Oddysey Arena in early 2026 & then take the Benn fight.

Ironically Benn’s the easiest name he can fight & his biggest pay day so he just needs to keep the belt for that.

Donovan looked world level in their first fight and was considered hard done by but this time he was outhought by a banger. Give Crocker his due, he made Paddy look ordinary tonight and deserved the win.

Yh, usually a Brit wins a world
Title and they have some easier defences first. Or that’s what used to happen.

He'd have been picked off cleanly, like he did in the first fight if he'd have chased it then, his chance was when he had Donovan really hurt.

Not sure I agree. This was a different fight. After the second KD, Donovan was throwing everything with an escape route in mind. When Crocker shelled up and started going jab for jab he looked decent.

In the first fight, it clearly didn't work, you're right, but I don't think Donovan had the confidence to pick him off here due to the different circumstances.

As for having his chance when Donovan was hurt, I assume you mean he should've jumped on him in the next round? Becuase the KD came right at the bell.

Amazing how welterweight suddenly feels weak. Mayweather/pac then Spence/craw into boots..

Now it feels decisively mediocre.

I had it as a close fight. Possibly Donovan edging it but the knockdowns could have swayed it and it was not a performance I expected from either man.

I think he’s feedable to Benn as he won’t reign long unless he’s matched very generously
