Skelton vs. Fraudley

Post by pm »

Heard rumours of this fight being on the Harrison vs. Cook undercard in December.

Anyone else heard anything?

Please no! :x

I hope some silly promoter isn't thinking about inflicting Harrison on us poor Brits again! :x

Skelton is not a great fighter, but he's a decent & honest fighter who isn't scared to lay it on the line.

Harrison has burned his bridges with the British fight fans.

He scurried off to the USA because he thought the British HW scene was beneath him. He only came back to 'fight' Williams because he thought his career had stagnated.

Let him stick to untelevised fights in small halls in parts of the USA that even people in America have never heard of!

The fact that Williams didn't train for Audley says it all/

While Skelton would easily beat him, he wouldn't untrain so he'd keep pressing on until he KO's Audley.

Skelton could play into Harrisons hands, Harrison likes come forward fighters, cause he dont come forward much himself. :TU:

Harrison's 'I'm scared of being hit' style isn't going to win him many fights... including one against Skelton.

How the fornicate is Harrison going to beat Skelton? He has an apalling workrate. He couldn't hold a fat overweight Williams off. And he was outworked by Dominic Guinn.

Skelton wins.

If Skelton goes at it like he did in his first fight with Williams then Harrison will completely shit himself and possibly not come out for the 2nd round, providing he gets through the first of course.

Hope Aud gets KTFO big time! :box:

I hope it does happen.

It's a great chance for Harrison to go some way to repairing the damage he did if he were to impressively beat Skelton.

However the far more likely outcome and the outcome I look forward to seeing is Skelton taking Harrison apart with sheer workrate and leaving him on the canvas, a beaten and bloodied mess and out of boxing (at least UK boxing) for good.

I hope this does happen. I need CLOSURE on A-Forces career, and Skeltons ugly, agressive bullying style will bring this violently about.

This is the kind of fight Skelton needs to advance his career for 2007.

I can see it happening. Skelton will want it because he will reckon he can outgun and outgame Audley. Harrison will want it becuase he'll think he can outsmart/outbox Skelton and grab his very last chance to jump back into the limelight.

If it does happen I think Skelton will simply have too much heart for Harrison, and I don't mean to imply that Audley is a coward - just that Skelton would go to the brink to win a fight whereas I'm not sure Audley will game it out with a guy like Skelton when the going gets tough.

I don't think Audley would go to the brink to win a game of hopscotch.

true that, it will be a battle of can't vs won't, with Audley unwilling to throw a punch and Skelton unable to land with any accuracy...can't wait

How? :-?

He barely throws enough punches to worry a fly, he certainly isn't going to throw enough when Skelton starts headbutting him & elbowiing him.; he'll be petrified! :o

The only way that Harrison can win is if Skelton gets disqualified.

No. I think he can beat Skelton. It is a question of style and Audley will be determined not be remembered as a two-time coward.

After he beats Skelton people will revise Matt as a 1-D guy and continue to disparage Audley.
He's already a 2 time coward, did you see his non effort against Guinn?

I dount this fight will happen.

But if it does I just can't see how Audley Harrison can win? Matt Skelton has a far too high a work rate for Harrison to handle, who's pitty patt punches will not stop Skelton steamrollering him.

Boxing is 90% mental as Skelton is much more mentaly tough than Harrison is, going by the fights I have seen of theirs which is almost all of them.

Skeltons workrate, strength and desire will take Harrison to places he won't like.

100% correct.

The mental aspect is what has to be looked at here.

Harrison is one of the most mentally weak fighters I've ever seen.

Like you say, I doubt it will happen.

There is no desire to see Harrison in this country. He still has some fans, somewhat bizarrely, but the vast majority do not want to see him.

Such a fight would not be financially viable.

If the fight happens harrison wins, the fact is that with Williams sitting back harrison didn't work, he finds good angles when fighters come forward (see hersisia) and is exceptional on thie inside for a big man. I say Harrison KOs Skelton in the 8th.

i`d have to fancy skelton to win but one thing harrison has got is height.
matt likes to lean over fellas and sap their strength but it will be difficult to do against a man of harrison`s stature. matt looked a bit troubled against another tall bloke in bob mirovich(sp?) because he found it hard to rest his bulk on the bloke in the clinches.
