I'm surprised so many people are going with Crawford, even though he’s a solid underdog.
I can see it, though. I don’t think this fight is going to be exciting or anything. I kind of expect a low-output fight, where Crawford outboxes Canelo and wins a close decision, if the judges are fair (which is a big if).
If not, I expect a close/controversial decision for Canelo.

People must think canelo is shot. Hes certainly on the downside but crawford has a thin resume and is undersized.Sendo Takeshi wrote: ↑13 Sep 2025, 16:33 I'm surprised so many people are going with Crawford, even though he’s a solid underdog.

I’m really starting to lean to Crawford by ko. We all know Crawford has power. I would have bet him on against Floyd. I never bet against Floyd.

A friend of mine had this jack russell terroir. He would always say if he was ten pounds heavier I would have to put him down. Bud is well basically 14 pounds heavier but really 20 pounds heavier. He looks like a bulldog. Bud has been the best fighter of the last 10 years. I can give it up to usyk , Inoue, Davis. Canelo has just been a name to me over the past ten years to make money.

Canelo can no longer beat elite fighters.
He telegraphs his punches too much and just relies on single power shots.
His stamina has also diminished because he was knackered for the last two rounds, which is not like him.
He's still got that Marvin Hagler like chin though.

Canelo vs Sheeraz/Jermall/Eubank/Adames/Alimkhanuly are all still interesting (enough) fights for him to come back with before another big one.

Yes, him against any 2nd tier opposition would still be interesting, but he isn't beating any elite level fighter.
The way he was talking after the fight, I get the impression that he now realises this too.
I am now starting to realise why the Bivol rematch hasn't happened.
Bivol is bigger, stronger, a better boxer and he's elite; that's Canelo's Kryptonite.

Yes, and he's now also at the same age as GGG was when he first fought him.

This really is one of the all time great wins in Boxing. It's not just marketing to say that. It really objectively is.
It's every bit as big a win as Leonard's win over Hagler. Except maybe even more so because this really wasn't controversial

I'm wondering if he just rolled with that punch.
He does that sometimes and it looks harder than it actually was.

Terence Crawford explains how he developed his body for Canelo Alvarez fight
As Terence Crawford reflects on his undisputed super middleweight title win over Canelo Alvarez, he talks to Andre Ward about preparing himself to make the physical leap up several weight divisions in order to make the fight happen.
“When I was fighting at these lower weights I had to always keep myself from growing,” Crawford said. “When I was at 147 everybody was like ‘man, he’s a gym rat.’ I’m always in the gym anyway but I had to stay in the gym because I had to keep my weight down and stay in reasonable touching range to be able to make weight. So when I was able to work out, not worry about what I do in the weight room or what I do nutrition wise, my body just started doing what it do.
“Like, I didn’t tell my body to just get bigger or nothing…A lot of people don’t know this but I started working out for Canelo in February. This was a process. They think this happened overnight. Chet was like ‘you going to get this Canelo fight, we got to start now, got to start working on your legs, working on your power so you can withstand those big shots and you know he’s going to be punching your arms’ and this and that. So we already preparing for Canelo in February. So when they say ‘ah he just gained all this weight,’ nah, it was a process. It was bulk and then cut.”
Crawford was then asked about fighting infrequently and whether he believes extended time in between fights is a hindrance.
“I think you get your sharpness from sparring and in the gym. If you’re sharp in the gym you’re going to be sharp in the fight. That’s just me. A lot of people don’t believe that…Me being in the game for so long, your body needs rest. So when you having these camps after camps after camps thinking ‘I’m staying active,’ you’re constantly tearing down your body.
“So when they say ‘oh, well Terence, he fights one time a year.’ That’s cool, for me. If I fight twice a year that’d be great, but one time a year — hey, I’m giving my body the proper time it needs to recover because as I got older that’s just as important as anything else, is recovery.”
