Re: Boxxer agrees on 'historic' broadcast deal with BBC
20yrs with Matchroom and has also worked with Warren, Moloney etc with never a single issue
That Times article is mental - Boxxer are claiming the guy verbally agreed to a contract with a 24 month non compete?!
They're also claiming that Sky exec Rob Selmes - the guy who buys the TV rights for Sky - was part of a conspiracy to not renew Boxxer Sky contract.
That is absolutely batshite.
If they were any good, Sky would have renewed them. The Internet has four years worth of fan comments about Boxxer being shit, plus however many clangers Boxxer dropped over those four years, Maz Majeed relationship etc.
The guy whose job it is to renew /not renew isn't committing conspiracy when he doesn't renew a product which has been subject to years of adverse fan criticism and which has been the cause of troublesome issues such as being sued over Buatsi, the Majeed relationship, running round with bags of cash etc.
Boxxer also suing The Times. Oddly this is the first sort of positive-ish piece that Times writer has done on them. And it's still a car crash.

It smacks of Shalom being out of his depth doesn’t it. I like that Wish clearly never signed the contract or clause so Boxxer are claiming her verbally did. Good luck proving that2019588 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2025, 04:0920yrs with Matchroom and has also worked with Warren, Moloney etc with never a single issue

If Boxxer still has Turki behind them, then it's a big deal

Looks like a sponsorship deal. Which means more money for events. Positive always

The BBC are a lot more prestigious than DAZN to get your brand on.
Re: Boxxer agrees on 'historic' broadcast deal with BBC
Turki will see the numbers Dazn broadcasts pull, he'll surely want a bigger and more prestigious platform like the BBC. This is great news for boxing fans

It also smacks of the catchily named Minimum-weight poster Mr 2019588 making his case for the defence.
Fascinating case anyway.

Riyadh Season Agrees to Major Sponsorship With Boxxer in Support of BBC Deal
Riyadh Season has agreed to a "game-changing" sponsorship with promotional outfit Boxxer.
The deal promises to "support the new era of UK fight nights" and "deliver big events to millions" of British fight fans.
News of the deal was shared on The Ring's social accounts alongside a photo of promoter Ben Shalom and Turki Alalshikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority.
Shalom heads up Boxxer and recently secured a broadcast deal with the BBC, months after his company's partnership with Sky Sports came to an end.
The Boxxer-BBC venture will kick off October 25 with Frazer Clarke vs. Jeamie TKV for the British heavyweight title. The event will be shown live on BBC Two in a primetime slot of 8-10 pm. Undercard action will stream on the BBC iPlayer.
Shalom was noticeably absent from the kick-off press conference for the fight in London on Wednesday, and it's now become clear the 30-year-old, who's been on the ground in Riyadh for days, has hashed out a groundbreaking deal for boxing in the UK.
Clarke-TKV marks the first time professional boxing will be shown on traditional BBC programming since 2005.
The fight will take place at Derby's Vaillant Live Arena.

A Brit HW title fight live on BBC !
Should do good numbers and hopefully one (or two!) decent undercard fights.
I mean, that's got to be a good thing hasn't it ?
I might even say.., "Boxing is Back!"

Re: Boxxer agrees on 'historic' broadcast deal with BBC
Maybe Boxxer having the last laugh ? Shalom getting the Saudi money and shows on the BBC is a step up from SKY let alone DAZN. If you're going to do what the Saudi's do you want the biggest platforms and the biggest audiences, buried away on DAZN or on PPV is not anything like a show on BBC2 will do on a Saturday night

Great news for Ben
Re: Boxxer agrees on 'historic' broadcast deal with BBC
No PPV on the BBC!
Re: Boxxer agrees on 'historic' broadcast deal with BBC
While the extra money won't equate with PPV money, it will mean he won't have to worry so much about shows breaking even, and may have enough to get his fighters title shots

They had the same Riyadh "sponsorship" while on Sky. Didn't seem to make much differenceRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Oct 2025, 03:58 Riyadh Season Agrees to Major Sponsorship With Boxxer in Support of BBC Deal
