Not sure if it's worth mentioning, but former amateur star Marlon Ward walked away from boxing after three pro fights (all wins) because of bad hands.

Wasn’t he a 1992 ABA finalist? Darren McCarrick, who won at light-welter in 1992, also had three pro fights. I think he had some injury as well.

Yes, he was beaten in a couple of ABA finals by Keith Howlett and Alan Temple respectively, in excellent bouts. He also boxed for England. McCarrick was a big left hooker who destroyed Adrian Stone to win his ABA title. Darren is an early version of Ricky Hatton.
