Toney's issues with conditioning are well known. In shape, he was a hell of a fighter-see the McCallum bouts. Out of shape- like against Tiberi- he was not nearly as good.

Toney by easy decision, an in-shape Toney is a class above Hill. Hill was a great draw in Bismarck, where they went crazy watching him outpoint the David Vedders of this world.

Like I said, James "Lights Out" Toney was one of the most complete boxers that ever happened in boxing. He had it all, especially when he was in great shape. It takes a lot of boxing acumen, technical skills and ring generalship to fight from middleweight to heavyweight.

His problem was that he didn't train like he should have. Why? I don't know. Maybe he thought that he didn't need all that training, and with fighting and being active, would make him win fights. Toney is one of the modern fighters of the last 35 years that got over 90 fights. The guy was a warrior that fought anybody, any place and at any time. A certified legend? Yes!
