Re: Big John Tate vs Floyd Patterson
Big John Tate would be too big for Floyd Patterson. Tate by knockout
Re: Big John Tate vs Floyd Patterson
Big John Tate would not allow Floyd Patterson to pull a Mike Weaver on him by landing no mercy jabs and combinations on the outside to either take a decision or stopping him in about 10 rounds.
Re: Big John Tate vs Floyd Patterson
I'd have to favor Tate. Tate's a big lug, who wasn't that hard to hit, but he was tall, and rangy, and a fairly powerful man in his own right.
Patterson would have a big speed advantage, but it would take a lot of him having to contend with the much larger Tate round after round, and I think he'd be feeling pretty fatigued from about Round 5 or 6 onward in the contest.
I'd take Tate to win a decision 10 rounds to 5 or thereabouts.
