I'm researching these guys at 175. Nunn was ranked # 1 by the W.B.C. at 175 for 22 straight months(May 1999-March 2001) while Jones Jr. was 175 pound W.B.C. champ. Not to mention what happened in early.1998 when Jones Jr. gave up that title to fight at heavyweight against Buster Douglas-which , of course, he didn't go through with. Nunn was # 1 at 175 in early 1998, too .
Is it fair to say Jones Jr. ducked Nunn ? If not, why not ?

Re: Roy Jones Jr.and Michael Nunn
It might technically be fair to say, but i have a hard time imagining that Jones would've been all that nervous about Nunn.
Re: Roy Jones Jr.and Michael Nunn
If "Disinterested" equals "Ducking", then absolutely.
Re: Roy Jones Jr.and Michael Nunn
Lesser fighters than Nunn were # 1 contenders during Jones' reign and he chose to fight them. Jones' "disinterest" seems selective in regard to Nunn.
