Again though. You're assuming everyone adheres to your opinion on this matter.

They could change every result to a No Contest if they wanted, and I'm sure there would be a small sub-section of diligent Boxing fans who would quickly take to the internet to set the record straight about how many wins this guy in fact had.

If anything you might make the guy even more of a legend by trying to screw him over
But nobody cares what the internet nerds would say. Most boxing fans aren't on the internet and just watch whichever fights are between the best.

If they see a guy who is now 0-2-27, they are gonna think "bum" and not bother watching.
And if they saw any of the fights where he acquired that record they'll say "What the f*ck are they talking about? He knocked out that guy. I saw it."
But they wouldn't watch them. Maybe nerds on the internet rewatch past fights, but the casual viewers who tune in to see Tyson Fury and Joshua on Sky Sports don't bother. They just watch the top fights, maybe check out the past records of the fighters to see whether the opponent is any good or not (and see an opponent is 27-0, automatically think hes good even if his record is padded against bums)

Well it's not worth arguing about anyway because they're not going to try to reverse entire records anyway. That'd be a lawsuit waiting to happen and the Boxer in question would easily win it.

The most discouraging and frustrating part is that this sport we love treats failed drug tests with a wink and a pat on the back - and probably an envelope stuffed with cash under the table.
