Perhaps we could have Ortiz vs Zhang for the "Over 40 Seniors" heavyweight title.

Chisora could fight the winner.

I honestly wouldn't mind. We don't need the title, but the fights...I mean if they're gonna fight anyway it might as well be each other.

LUIS ORTIZ PUSHING FOR FIGHTS AGAINST ELITE HEAVYWEIGHTS

ORLANDO, Florida — If it were up to Luis Ortiz, the final chapter of his career would see him matched up against some of the elite heavyweights.

The two-time former title challenger took a step in the right direction to making that happen, as he blasted out an overmatched Phillip Penson in the first round Friday at the Caribe Royale.

After the dominating showing, Ortiz, 46, called for important fights.

“I think in my mind ... Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk, Daniel Dubois, Moses Itauma. I'm ready for everybody,” Ortiz told The Ring.

It didn’t take long for Ortiz (35-3, 30 KOs) to get on the front foot and take control of the fight against Penson. After Penson (8-5-3, 2 KOs) slipped trying to move away from Ortiz along the ropes, he was sent back to the canvas from a straight left to the chest from the Cuban southpaw.

After Penson got to his feet, Ortiz positioned him along the ropes and landed a devastating straight left that put him on the canvas for good with 1:06 left in the opening round.

“I'm really happy for this opportunity,” Ortiz said. “I’m good mentally, my body [feels good]. I’m with my family, I’m happy.”

The fight was Ortiz's first since January of last year, which he also won by first-round knockout against Francisco Cordero. He hopes to return to the ring again in three months.

All Penson's 8 wins came prior to 2014, at around 160 pounds.

Ortiz has certainly proved there that he's ready for Usyk.

It'd be kinda funny if a name chose to take on Ortiz, and they fought him basically as a paid addition to their training. Like they schedule the "fight" with Ortiz to be the end of their training camp for their next meaningful fight which is set for 2 weeks from then

Think I'd rather Dave Allen get revenge on Ortiz if he can beat Makhmudov. Also, Dillian Whyte said he would fight on, maybe this is the sort of opponent that he should go for?

Seriously people the fighters that ORTIZ has most recently have been utter rubbish, not only that but that guy PENSON he beat used to be a middleweight and a very ordinary one at that, Lets not forget when ORTIZ fought MARTIN he got dropped with a jab, I will concede there are a few good fights that could be made out there Martin rematch would be okay, CHISORA, WHYTE, WALLIN, MAKHMUDOV, ZHANG, BAKOLE what about STEPHAN SHAW, JERMAINE FRANKLIN, JEREMIAH MILTON, RICHARD TORRES, HEMI AHIO, KINGSLEY IBEH, surely JARED ANDERSON would have enough in the tank??

Ortiz is ancient so should only be matched accordingly. Pulev, Zhang, chisora, Washington, Charr, ect….

I’d also be ok with Whyte cause he isshot to bits…

And Dave Allen for a shot at revenge and hopfuly more than 9000 dollars…
