Think his shoulder had gone too.
Yeh it did look like that the way he dropped his whole arm

I thought Conway was coming back into the fight before the injury and I thought it could have got interesting. In saying that Liddard was showing no sides of tiredness and was well ahead on the cards when the injury happened.

4.35

In fairness Liddard also said in the post fight interview that he was the youngest.

Perhaps he had mentioned it to Smith, and Smith had taken his word for it.

Roland Todd, Tommy Milligan, Len Harvey, Randolph Turpin, Terry Downes, Johnny Pritchett, Tony Sibson and Mark Kaylor were all younger than Liddard when British Middleweight Champion I think.

When they were saying it I was shocked as many fighters turned pro at 16, 17 or 18 back in the day.

They were saying Nick Blackwell was the previous youngest at 25 which seemed weird but I just went with it.

You always had to be 20 to fight for the British title

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was some odd thing of not counting champions before a certain date or change.
Bit like in football where the old first division is forgotten about since they changed the name to Premiership.

I have a vague memory of someone going for the Euro or Commonwealth back in the late 80s or early 90s as they were too young to go for the traditional British first.

I wonder who that was. Naz, maybe?

I reckon that's right, Naz was too young for the British, but not the Euro.

Did smith also clarify why Liddard is called the billericay bomber?

Unfortunately not. A glaring omission…. Now the audience is left wondering whether or not Liddard is a terrorist…. I do think Smith should’ve made it clear

Kaylor was 22 when he won the British, Liddard is 23.

He boxed for Billericay & Wickford Boxing club hence the Billericay Bomber?

Tony Sibson was 21 years and 1 day!

It could be that George Liddard is the youngest to win both British and Commonwealth at the same time?

Mark Kaylor was 22 when he won the British AND Commonwealth middleweight titles (in the process of battering Roy Gumbs).

Either Eddie Hearn & co are utter twats (I merely throw that out there as a possibility) or they put some stupid caveats in their claim.

Fact: George Liddard is NOT the youngest winner of the British & Commonwealth middleweight titles.
