Jermell Charlo reacts to the idea of fighting Terence Crawford

I'm sure if a big fight comes up, Crawford will be offered a one fight deal with a top promotional company. Hearn already said he'd sign him, but Crawford may not get the purses he wants. PBC has by far the biggest 147 stable, and they could do a one fight deal too.

Hearn actually said he doesn’t have anyone within the Matchroom stable he could pit Crawford against. And he also claimed he couldn’t afford to pay Bud the purses he wants, due to the fact the American doesn’t generate enough revenue.

One of the PBC head honchos pretty much said the same thing (about Bud's purses). And we have to assume that Top Rank have blacklisted Crawford (based on their ongoing legal dispute).

That said, I’m sure that Matchroom and the PBC would both be willing to work with Crawford, as long they can make a profit from staging his events.

For sure, like I keep saying over-and-over again, Crawford will eventually find a boxing home (i.e. network and promoter) at some point, but it won’t happen until he realigns his pay expectations.

And Terence will remain inactive indefinitely until he finally agrees to compromise.

In the meantime, we shouldn't blame every fighter on planet, accusing them of cowardice, due to Crawford’s inability to find work (caused by his own excessively-high purse demands).

‘I want all the smoke’: Jermell Charlo says he wants Terence Crawford fight

Jermell Charlo looks to come back after a two-year hiatus.

Jermell Charlo recently took to IG Live to talk to his audience about what’s going on in his life and his career, and Charlo openly says he’s looking to make the biggest fights possible for him, including potential ones against Errol Spence and rival Terence Crawford.

“I honestly think Errol Spence is a good fight,” Charlo said. “I don’t have no issue with Errol Spence, I just believe that I don’t know what’s happening with the boxing world. Like right after my era with the Canelo sh-t, like I started to watch boxing change and I got my little distance and I thought it was important for me to focus strictly on my family and my kids and my life and my future. And I got hella Ms because I was knocking them (guys) out even before they was even boxing.

“I’m in the third generation of boxing. I was fighting when Mayweather was fighting, I was fighting when De La Hoya was fighting, I fought on Bernard Hopkins’ undercard…I don’t know if there’s too many of us left.

“I want all the smoke. I want smoke with Crawford, I want all the smoke. Get me in the best shape, I’m in shape, I train, my lifestyle is on the move, everything is great so why wouldn’t I want the best, man…Only interested in fights that makes sense and make money. Vergil a great fighter, Vergil could fight…I ain’t ever even seen the Zayas kid.

“If they gave me an offer for Crawford — and me and Crawford, I talked to him one time — it’d be an honor to get in the ring with him…Being in the ring with Crawford would be amazing, I’d give him the best fight of today’s era. I don’t think that there’s no other fight out there in the boxing world for Crawford to make right now. The best fight, really, would be me.”

Charlo hasn’t fought since losing a wide decision to Canelo Alvarez in September 2023.
