Yh. Even until that point, heavy leather was thrown.. but neither touched the canvas.

He did, but he also ate a bomb of a right hand right after that.

Thanks. Yeah on first watch seems a bad stoppage to me, Parker was covering up and threw back near end. Easy to be an armchair critic though. If the tables were turned I doubt Parker would say it was stopped early.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 19:11Controversial wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 19:09 Blimey wasn’t expecting that, was only listening on the radio but seems people think it was an bad stoppage, will look for a clip

However you view those end punches from Wardley, Parker was clearly spent, with no answer for the first time in a long draining battle.
The fight should have continued for longer but it doesn’t take a genius to see what would happen.

Per the broadcast, Parker was up 6 rounds, 2 rounds and even.

If he wasn't knocked down the fight was won on the cards, seen plenty of fighters just spoil for the last round to get through a fight.Kilburn wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 19:23However you view those end punches from Wardley, Parker was clearly spent, with no answer for the first time in a long draining battle.

Even if he was that spent, he was winning the fight and deserved the opportunity to fiddle through.
On the other hand Wardley was knackered too, he might well have struggled in the last round.
But we will never know, Foster ruined the only decent fight on the PPV card

I agree Foster did spoil it from the point of view of the spectacle, and it does inevitably leave room for a host of what ifs, however unlikely.Coco wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 19:28If he wasn't knocked down the fight was won on the cards, seen plenty of fighters just spoil for the last round to get through a fight.

But for me Wardley did enough there to chalk that up as a legit win. And I picked Parker beforehand.

I would stop short of saying the stoppage ruined the fight, but I will say that if I were the referee I wouldn't have stopped that fight right then.
It's unfortunate, and there definitely needs to be a rematch between the 2 fighters.

The best take away from the Heavyweight Division in the last 20 years is ...
It became a 220-240 again and many had a shot at it either side right now

When that got stopped I think Parker was closer to a ko than wardly… wardly lost his shape and was punchi by himself out… landing a few but in 20 seconds if Parker just kept doing what he was doing wardly would of been prime for the taking.
Shit reffing really fornicating up a good blokes career prospects is unacceptable.

Why not, at least he's exiting to watch. He reminds me of the classic 70-80s South African heavyweights. Not the most skill, but all action.

How is it pointless? It was one of the best Heavyweight fights in a long time, and had a controversial finish.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 19:38No not another pointless rematch please, Wardley has much bigger fish to fry

And the only bigger fish are AJ, Fury and Uyskgilgamesh wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 20:57How is it pointless? If Joe goes down, he better get up quick, because that count is going to be lightning fast

Appalling stoppage by a referee who way past his used by date. I’m not going to mention or debate home decision but the ref was in a perfect position to see what was and what wasn’t landing which makes it worse.

Pathetic
Blatant robbery. Foster had to be the worst and most bias ref in boxing. He should have lost his job the time he helped a semi conscious Cleverly back to his corner.
If I was a foreign boxer fighting a Brit, I'd refuse if he was given the spot.

You're right it was a quality fight but looking at it from Fabio's perspective he can now either have a shot at previously unimaginable glory against Usyk or earn a massive amount of money in fights against AJ or Dubois or even Fury.gilgamesh wrote: ↑25 Oct 2025, 20:57How is it pointless? Parker brings nothing close to that to the table
