Had my first amateur match.

Post by 2203542 »

I lost. It was my debut fight, my opponent is a 4-0-0. I dunno how to feel. It was a 2nd round TKO. My opponent was 21, I'm 16. think I feel disappointment in myself mainly. It's a month ago, but I still feel stuck over it. I dunno if my opponent lied. Not sure. But watching back the tape, my opponent is shorter than me right? (I'm 5'9) tried to play range, but my jabs are way tooo weak. and slow. He dodged my pull counter. I couldn't see his lead hook. It's the one punch Icouldnt defend against. I think it's cause he hooked from below? Unsure. I just need to get stronger, so I think one of my main faults is my lack of power, I'm 64 kg, 5'9. My opponent was much, much more muscular than me. Myjabss WEREN'T authorative. And at times, I punch andI'm in an unbalanced positionGrow a Garden. 5 months of experience. What do you all suggest I do to increase my power especially? Balance I'm doing good progress, but knowing how to fix it is good too.

where do you live where they let 4-0 21 year olds fight debuting 16 year olds? seems pretty irresponsible

you should be in with some other 15 or 16 year old, not a more experienced grown ass man

If you're only 16 your power will increase naturally as your body strength increases. Improvements on your technique and timing will lead to more damage being done from your punches as well.

Hell when I was 18 making my amateur debut they had me fight a 29 year old who was having his 20th bout
