Yes, the momentum was about to swing. Wardley gave it is all but Parker was still in there. Fabio had blown himself out Parker was about come on strong. It's such a shame we were denied the spectacle. Most of all though... All that hard work and sacrifice from Parker. Years of building himself up, waiting for his chance and for such a poor decision to take it all away.
I have a little less sympathy.

He’s experienced enough to know you have to at least look as if you are throwing something back.

You can’t take a load of punishment, not throw anything back, sag on the ropes and not expect the ref to jump in.

The last few punches may not have landed flush, Wardley may (possibly) have been about to tire, but Parker looked like a sitting duck.

For me, Foster was right for once and Parker only has himself to blame. I think that showed in his post fight reaction - he’s a humble honest guy.
Wardly landed 1/4 punches since parker had last thrown.... If parker was in fact a sitting duck i would expect a better connext rate on that last combo. (parker would of been a sitting duck vs a fresh wardly, but not ver a raggard tired wardly)..
That is a good point, but it did only look a matter of time before he got KO'd to me.

It a weird one because had Foster stopped it a little earlier I would have had less of a problem. When Parker went back (but not a slump back) to the other set of robes - I wouldn't have had a problem with it then as there was a lot of unanswered shots (not necessarily landed). But no, Foster waited for Parker to throw a pretty powerful looking shot, Wardley looked like he punched himself out - threw (I don't know about landed) some much more arm weary shots and then Foster called it off.

Its actually arguably worse than the Groves stoppage as Parker DID throw back and was looking much stronger on his legs than Groves and also, and equally important, Wardley looked really tired then.

You don't wait for a fighter to recover, show the signs of recovery and then wave it off - no going to lie - that makes it look suspicious - looks like Foster blew his chance to call it off when Wardley was well on top, so called it off when Parker was coming back into it.

Just need to make sure Usyk insists on a non Brit ref. Sorry but how is that ok. I'm coming round to thinking the stoppage was just a little bit British but still can't be having a Brit ref in these type of fights.

Foster is a sub-standard referee and has been for some years. The guy has missed the mark too many times.

That was me, it’s a fairly abstract view… I just think wardly was absolutely punching himself out… to me it looked like Parker was kinda fucked , but also aware that wardly couldn’t keep doing that much longer.

It might be a slight exaggeration. Parker might have been too tired himself to Finnish him. But you get the point, I think if Parker survived another 20 seconds the tide would have turned.

Appreciate your view but...

As I saw it the most likely outcome was Parker coming back and having Fabio on the verge of a stoppage. Parker looked rocked and in control. Wardley was 100% about to tire. There was nothing flush.

A question to the board, why is there this idea of "he's not throwing back"??? Defence is a thing in boxing. If you're not throwing but not really taking too much then defending yourself in a shell is a great tactic. In the final rounds of an epic fight, especailly at HW, getting the other guy to blow himself out often leads to KOs for the guy who seemed to be under the hammer.

Jake LaMotta would feign being rocked to get the toehr guy to unload. Howard "Health & Safety" Foster is a good ref for samller fights but not at this level.
