“185+ fights a year from the best promoters including Matchroom, Queensberry, Golden Boy, Misfits, BKFC and more. Minimum of 12 pay-per-view events a year included at no extra cost.“

But what isn’t clear, will there will be other PPVs that aren’t included in the above that you still need to pay for even when you have the Ultimate plan?
I hate to sound too pessimistic, but there will definitely be PPV's on top, maybe not at first - but the DAZN modus operandi is to lure you into a deal, then whack extras on top. And then put the deal's price up.
Yeah I don't doubt it, the fact they haven't said 'you never have to pay for a PPV again' suggests there will be others excluded, you would hope you'd get those cheaper if you are a Ultimate subscriber.
They did say you never have to pay for PPV again. When they launched DAZN in the first place.

Yep, I signed up when they first launched when it was a couple of quid a month. I still might try it and if they move the goalposts too much I just won't renew.

I would love DAZN to sign Top Rank. It's got to be a possibility.

Same!
They came in very attractive. Like a savior.
Then the price went up a little bit, okay, I'll stay. Then they added PPV's, not great.
Then the price went up quite a bit, and every decent fight was PPV.
See ya later DAZN

How does this work for people already in an annual contract, I payed £119.99, but it still has until February to be renewed. Is there any way I can upgrade to ‘ultimate’

DAZN have shown time and time again that they can’t be trusted. It’s honestly mind-boggling that anyone would take out an annual sub with them.

Guess you just wait for it to end, the same PPVs will be included and you just decide if you want the ultimate plan when it’s renewal time.

I’m tempted by the one off option
Me too

My old man lives with us and he’s in his 90s now and it’s not much fun for us to be hunched around a little laptop watching a dodgy stream that buffers frequently and can cut out completely at any time.

Less than £5 a week seems a small price to pay to give him something to look forward to most Saturday nights of the year.

But then I can envisage myself sat there next month watching Chisora v Whyte on my premium PPV subscription and thinking jeez, Eddie’s suckered me again

It's not bad if DAZN is your only subscription. But if you have other streaming services, in comparison it's actually quite expensive put next to Prime and Netflix. In my country DAZN ultimate is 3 times more a month than Netflix.

It’s just so bonkers that a service which loudly proclaimed “PPV is dead” is now selling packages which confirm there will be a minimum of 12 PPVs a year  It’s unbelievable really.

I look it at like Sky Sports or TNT Sport would charge, they are both £20+

Interesting strategy.

They inflated humdrum cards to PPV which must surely have bombed in terms of buys

So to try and get around it, they massively increase the monthly price but say they're giving you something special.

This feels like a final roll of the Dazn dice. Cheap subscriptions didnt work, overcharging for one-off PPVs no one thought were worthy didn't work so now they're going full on with expensive subscriptions.

I'll probably buy it because I think I'm on some kind of boxing spectrum (as most members on this forum probably are!) but can't see Joe Public going for it....

Not for me, I don’t watch F1, football, golf or pretty much any other sport they show on these, I don’t pay for regular Sky TV anymore either.

If you look at Ruthie's polls on the RBR's- so many of us so called on the boxing spectrum are either fishing, listening on the talk sport, or waiting for YouTube for these 'lesser' PPV's. The buyers are in the minority. That says a lot.

.
Is it a massive increase? If you are currently on the flex plan that’s currently £24.99 a month and if you are on a fixed 12 month plan that’s £14.99 a month. So either slightly cheaper or £7 a month more depending on which plan you are on but now it includes PPVs. Granted we don’t know how great these PPVs will turn out to be. If you always paid it all up front then yes it’s gone from £119.99 to £229.99 so that’s a jump of £9 a month. I guess it depends on how many of the PPVs you would’ve bought that you don’t need to anymore.

How much was it over there to start out with?
Because in NZ it has tripled for the basic sub and that's more basic than what DAZN started out as. So three times the cost, and however many PPV's.

When it very first started it was something like £1.99 a month which of course was never going to stay at. I cancelled when they started increasing the costs. But most things rise over time, all the various subscriptions creep up year on year.

Yh I remember that £1.99 introductory price.

It was that for like 3+ months I think.

Then went to £9.99 or was it £7.99?

I can’t remember. But I still kept it a little longer cus we didn’t have ppv’s then. Eventually I cancelled

Was always gonna cancel eventually

How long before we get Interim PPVs?!

May as well call everything PPV if it's on a subscription. It's all semantics to try and sell you the same sh1t at a higher price.

Maybe the boxers are getting paid too much if this is the end result

There will undoubtedly be others not included, they haven’t said no one will pay for a fight again. I also wonder if BKB and misfits will start appearing as PPV that most boxing fans wouldn’t pay for anyway.
