Good performance from Ortiz, but I gotta say. Lubin is one of the chinnier guys I've ever seen at this weight class. World level skills, but just no chin whatsoever.

lubin is a skilled boxer but just not hard enough for the top guys and not slick enough to not get smacked eventually, it was inevitable that virgy stopped him but thought he could go a bit longer than 2. pretty good from virg.
ort-ennis a great fight, would favour ennis

Suicidal tactics from Lubin, what was he playing at laying on the ropes allowing Ortiz to tee off,? He actually started off well Lubin first couple of minutes but Ortiz started getting to work before the round was out and he kept in up in the 2nd, backing Lubin up, he nailed him with a few rights and the last one had him out on his feet before Ortiz drilled him with 3 quick lefts when the ref stepped in Lubin completely out of it, good win for Ortiz but Lubin the master of his own downfall

Verg looked like he'd tightened up his defence a bit too (from what I could see of 1.5 rounds anyway) because he still takes too many hits for my liking - especially if a fight goes to the judges, which it will more often as he faces better fighters. he's beaten all kinds of different styles now this last year or two. great learning

I'll have to think although I'll say this....DLH v Trini both fighters were well known to non boxing fans. Unfortunately, as good as Boots & Ortiz are, they're anonymous to the outside world.CaptainSpacerod wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025, 01:06Yes sir, a fight for the ages.
Maybe Eddie Hearn was exaggerating when he said we haven't seen a fight like this for 35 years but off the top of my head i can't think of a fight involving 2 superstar unbeaten KO artists meeting in their prime. Possibly Trinidad De La Hoya ?
Hopefully, this fight will change that.
But yeah, two undefeated Champions* in their prime, big punching, high skill set. It potentially has everything.
* - I have no fornicating clue what belts they currently hold. And I don't really care.

at the risk of being the pudenda that buys all the sh1tty ppvs and doesn't get that upset by 'routine defences'..
I'll whisper it - I wouldn't mind it marinating for ONE fight - say the both have a decent fight a week (day?) apart and then sort it ?
Because like it or not - (and it's obviously not) Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury had way more reach. If it was only ONE fight then it could pick up some casual traction and crossover a bit in to a 'superfight'.
Only one tho - gotta happen soon.

Not a terrible idea.
Boots V Madrimov & Ortiz v Ramos (if Ramos can still make 154).
If the two lads win then they meet each other.
Winner of all that meets Conor Benn

Just as Boots did with Lima, Vergil dismantled Lubin easily and now we hopefully stop with the tune-ups and get serious with these generational bouts.

To me it looked like he wanted to lure and counter him, before he realised he can't counter himhandsofstone wrote: ↑09 Nov 2025, 05:30 Suicidal tactics from Lubin, what was he playing at laying on the ropes allowing Ortiz to tee off,?
Too fast and too strong.
