Mate, I'm 55 and haven't laced a glove since the 90's. After three rounds at a fast pace, I'd need oxygen in the corner.
Yeah stamina would be the biggest issue for me for sure. That's why keeping as calm as possible would be crucial to making sure I have the most attempts at meaningful offense I could muster.

Even then my punches probably wouldn't be able to crack an egg by the 4th.
Going back to her (lack of) punching power. If someone stands in front of her, chin up, telling her she's feather fisted, they might get punched in the throat. I don't car who you are, you're taking a knee if that happens.
I don't think I'd leave my chin up along with having the hands down. My hands down thing would be part of my offensive strategy as much as anything. I'd simply be confident that defense of the blocking variety wasn't needed at first. My whole thing would be applying a weird kinda psychotic pressure on her. Walking down, with the absolute certainty that I couldn't be hurt, and occasionally making quick bobs and weaves or quick moves of the feet to cut the ring off and throw a heavy combination of punches when she doesn't expect it.

Sh*t like that.

It would work or it wouldn't. What can I tell ya. That's what I'd try

And I'd admit that once a few rounds have passed, if I'm huffing and puffing and she's still standing there. It's game over.

Yeah we do - and that's what makes me thinks KMH's protege does underestimate himself a bit.

Hey I'll have you know buddy. I am 175 pounds of pure steel! There's just...about 45 pounds of jelly on top of that

Address yourself KMH - If you're 6'5 and in great shape and been around boxing for years...
I think you'd have a MUCH better chance against Shields than you yourself do.

I mean, consider peak Bert.

Like peak, PEAK Bert like we maybe didn't even see (turned over too old, injuries) - he was so SOLID.
He wasn't big at the weight at all, but just such a unit - like he had notably thicker bones and denser muscles than even top pros like The Matrix, Mundo and The Nail.
Men just have that "Bert" over women to start with !
Like it's a thing now in women's soccer that they need to wear headbands for heading and special "women football boots" to protect their achilles tendons.
They get surprisingly much more concussion and tendon snaps.

It could end up like "Kobayashi vs A bear"
"The Bear doesn't know he's in a competition..!"

43. 5'11. 13st. Normally decent nick but bit out of shape at min. Trained in FC kickboxing and dine bits if boxing over years. Never a fighter. Love to hit the heavy bags, and in general prefer martial arts cardio ti any other.

Clarissa would stop me. Dunno when but think she'd tear me a new one.

Some of the posts in here are clearly written by people who have never sparred anyone any good.

Boxing fit is different to other types of fitness. If you haven’t boxed to a reasonable standard you have absolutely no chance. Even if you are fit you would be gassed 2 or 3 rounds in and lose all coordination. Hitting a bag is nothing like landing a decent punch on someone who knows what they are doing.

Now on the flip side I’ve sparred some reasonable girls and generally they can’t punch that hard and their ability to take a shot is reduced too. However people are also under estimating how hard even a ‘feather fisted’ boxer at a reasonable level punches.

Most are agreeing with this - she's clearly good and a top athlete and that outweighs enormous advantages in natural size and strength,
But by how much - Where do you start your men who are 50/50 with The Gwoat ?

I'm 31 and in half decent shape she'd either beat me by decision or she'd probably stop me with bodyshots  my stamina sucks shadowboxing, let alone against someone else.

I think those here who can actually box at a competitive amateur level and aren't too old or in bad shape would probably have a decent chance against her, especially if they're a lot bigger. Those who aren't in good shape or who couldn't see themselves doing 20 minutes on a punchbag would probably lose this. The oldies here who also think that she couldn't hurt them should probably also consider that their chin is probably 4x more fragile than it once was.

Somewhere in the ranks of trained, experienced, capable boxers. Not random old fat fuckers off the street.

I see The GWOAT :-x herself specifically says she’d beat Showtime Sean, One Time Thurman AND GGG..!

I mean
That’s absurd surely !?

She also thinks she’d beat The Problem Child…

Make it happen !!
That would be mega and we’d all pay PPV - it would be “Fight of The Century” material.

FWIW Jake would masticate her and I’d be fascinated to hear anyone make the case for Claressa !
Anyone….? :maybe:

How do you think you would do against best woman in Judo?
I’d probably be terrible, unless I was allowed to punch them in the face. Judo is very different, not really fighting, much more specific techniques for throwing isn’t it? I’d fancy my chances against the best women in kick-boxing though or a similar martial art.

She’d walk right through me I imagine

I've said this before, but it must be possible to calculate a 'male advantage formula' and let them fight off that.
Say 108 man vs 168 woman ?
Really hard to scale it remember the tennis equivalent -

Serena Williams lost to Karsten Braasch, who was ranked ATP World No. 203 at the time, during an exhibition "Battle of the Sexes" match at the 1998 Australian Open.
Braasch, described by one journalist as a player whose training regime centered around cigarettes and alcohol, defeated Serena 6–1 in a single-set contest after racing to a 5–0 lead.

Although she was still good then, she was only 17. Even still, 200th in the world is still a hell of a lot better than the average Boxrec user is in comparison to Shields.

I just don’t think combat sports are remotely equivalent to things like tennis. Have a look down Shields’ list of opponents and seriously tell me the average guy wouldn’t simply smash their face in with ease?

THAT is a much better point BB.
Shields herself clearly is talented, trained and a peak pro-athlete - she thrashes 'guy off street' all day long,.
But some of her oppo... :o

I lean much more back to you there - big, old man smashes 6-2-2 record 'boxfit' woman opponent to bits.

The average man in the UK is 1 inch taller than Shields and 7kg heavier than she came in at her heavyweight fight. A third of men in the UK are obese, only 20% lift weights and about 60% do cardio. The average man also has no combat sports experience and has never been in a fight. The average man in the streets is a lot less of a threat than people might make out. No doubt having some of those things to their advantage significantly increases their chances but the average man does not have it, although they all think they do.
