Ngannou was probably still the best heavyweight in the world in MMA, is an athletic freak and his main style was "boxing". Paul's opponents has mostly been wrestlers or jiu jitsu guys except Silva, they have been wayyyyyy past their prime and also several weightclasses lighter. At the time of Paul facing them, Ngannou would've quickly KO'd every one of them in boxing or MMA. Ngannou Vs Paul is the freakshow fight that they should be going for but Ngannou would still be a heavy favourite.stujones wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025, 20:01 On a side and I don’t know much about MMA so excuse my ignorance…. Jake Paul has fought some named “past it “ MMA guys and has done a number on then.
Francis is now late thirties himself and has only had 2 fights. Would Paul vs Ngannou be the miss match people would have thought after Ngannou ran Fury so close.
I’ve seen Paul fight enough and he’s useless, but Ngannou looked pretty awful vs Joshua also. Just a thought really, but obviously there is a size difference.

If there is no side agreement, this is surely the fight we have all been waiting for to end the hype show.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
Actually even IF there is a side agreement I think this ends it all for Jake Paul either way.Frostieballs wrote: ↑12 Nov 2025, 20:28 If there is no side agreement, this is surely the fight we have all been waiting for to end the hype show.
Either he gets destroyed like everyone wants and we're all satisfied and can forget him.
Or he doesn't and we have definitive, undeniable proof that everything he's been involved in is a sham and there's no need to pay any attention to the next sham.
So either way. This ends the bullsh*t one way or another.
But in all likelihood the very mention of this bout is bullsh*t.

As long as it earns him big bucks he'll do it as long as it's profitable I'm sure, but the profit would surely take a tremendous hit.

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
This is truly awful news.
AJ is a superstar, one of the biggest names in boxing, arguably with a net worth of £100m plus. If even he is prepared to join the Jake Paul circus the game’s up.
Et tu Anthony

Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
If AJ were to show up and take a dive it would definitely damage Boxing, but seeing as how he's independently wealthy already, and it would completely ruin his career and legacy if he threw it. I can't imagine Jake Paul could offer him anything to make it worth his while to throw it all away like that.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
I mean, the BBBoC has sanctioned worse mismatces. But I would be concerned for JP and I'm not even a fan.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
If Jake Paul stops AJ that would put a bit of a dampener on a future Joshua v Fury bout.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
I think it would kill the sport in a lot of ways. It would mean there is no credibility left in the sport even from some of its biggest and most capable stars.
It would essentially make it all meaningless...more so than it already is.

Just woke up to this and a text from my grandson
'grandad, Anthony Joshua v Jake Paul in Miami in December'
My initial thoughts, decent pay day for AJ. But then. Even better pay day for Joshua when he gets knocked out. The world is a scam where scammers are getting richer and richer.

This kinda mirrors the "what would Claressa Shileds do to you..?" thread.
A rubbish blown-up Lt-HW (he's just not a Cruiser even) vs an OLGM in the World Top 5 for 10 years.
AJ has had a couple of shockers and may well be shot at top-level, but he marmalises The Problem Child quicker than The GWOAT outlasts 50 yr. old men who never boxed..!
If Jake wins... it's a fix.
If Jake GTD... it's a fix.
If Jake does quite well for a while, then gets KOd... it's a fix.
I can just about believe Jake makes it to R3 by running, holding and taking a beating - kudos if he does - but that's surely his "moral victory win" ceiling ?

AJ is bigger and stronger., he can bully Jake. No way Jake could 'hold'.. so if Jake 'hold' .... It's a fix.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul - December 2025?
He can only run and avoid and contact. Stay way out of arms reach and be on his bike. I'd be surprised if Joshua couldn't cut off the ring to catch him though.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑13 Nov 2025, 05:36AJ is bigger and stronger., he can bully Jake. Reports: Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua nearing deal for December showdown
In a full 180-degrees piece of matchmaking, Jake Paul is taking himself from one extreme to another by moving toward a December showdown versus two-time former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
“That’d be career suicide for Jake Paul,” one veteran fight official opined Wednesday after seeing reports that Paul and Joshua are nearing competition of a deal to pit the YouTuber and freshly ranked top-15 WBA cruiserweight Paul versus the 2012 Olympic gold medalist from the U.K. who’s only lost to undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and former champions Daniel Dubois and Andy Ruiz.
Joshua, 28-4 (25 KOs), was in serious talks to take a tune-up fight on the November 22 Riyadh Season card in Saudi Arabia, according to a fight official, but he’s now closer to returning from his four-knockdown knockout loss to Dubois in September 2024 versus Paul.
Paul, 12-1 (7 KOs), was due to fight unbeaten WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis Friday in Miami on Netflix, but Davis was wrapped up in another alleged domestic violence episode and Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions yanked him from the exhibition fight.
Paul has stated before he wanted to fight Joshua, but following his victories over MMA fighters and other lesser foes, few took him seriously.
“Wow! I finally got to give him credit,” DAZN boxing analyst and former 154lbs champion Sergio Mora told Boxing Scene Wednesday following a report by his colleague Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated that Paul-Joshua negotiations were intensifying, which was followed by a report from The Ring on the topic.
“This is a legitimate challenge: Going from a 5-5 lightweight he’s going to bully around (Gervonta Davis) to a former heavyweight champion who’s likely going to bully him around. I’ve got to respect a man who’s signed up to get his ass whooped on national television.”
Boxing Scene reported following the Davis cancellation that Paul was recruiting heavyweight sparring partners to prepare for his next fight.
“I don’t know how it could even get sanctioned,” said a trainer who has worked with heavyweights. “[Joshua is] one of the most dangerous punchers in the sport.”
In March 2024, Joshua knocked down former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in the first round and finished him with a wicked second-round punch.
Paul has turned away from testing with the Voluntary Anti Doping Association in favor of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, an official told Boxing Scene Wednesday.
Tim Shipman, head of the Association of Boxing Commissions and the Florida athletic commission, told Boxing Scene he has yet to receive any requests from Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions over requests for a venue, date or whether the bout will be a professional or exhibition fight.
“I won’t discuss anything about it until I receive the information from them,” Shipman said.

Jackanory Jake not been in the press much or something? Anyone who believes he would ever get in the ring with AJ needs their head looking at.

AJ is the biggest scumbag in boxing, miles worse than Tony Margarito.

You can't blame anyone for making easy money legally.
IF it's on the level, he splatters Paul and if he doesn't then Fake Paul's entire career is forever tainted as a fix.
It's not that bad.
