Things may have changed since my days, but Pre-Saudi bills, I was only aware of broadcasters guaranteeing a purse, not paying it in full, in advance before all the funds are in.

Even if they did, it’s only a matter of cash flow. How many PPV’s have made a loss for a major broadcaster?

At the time Hearn left, all the UK boxing promoters were tied up or had very public ties with kinahan. Shalom was maybe just in the right place at the right time and maybe seemed controllable.

At the same time, he had a total of five events to his name when Sky Sports gave him a four year exclusive deal to be their promoter. Very, very strange.

I think we’ve seen a drop in the volume and quality of U.K. shows since Adam left Sky.
