The shot fighter

Post by stujones »

I think one of the beautiful, but also very sad things, about this sport is whilst Father Time will always win, it is not always the same way in which a fighter becomes shot, not even the same age.

You will get a few fighters in which you will note a gradual decline (I’d be tempted to say Tyson Fury in this category). Others you see decline and “grow old overnight). Some seem to go in the legs primarily (I always think of Julio Cesear Chavez), some just can no longer take a shot (Danny Williams, Roy Jones) other seem to lose their speed (Shane Moseley), others just seem to lost that ability to pull the trigger (Manny Pacquiao) and some just seen to lose it all (Sugar Ray Leonard).

A bit morbid topic, but the shot fighter does fascinate me and I was just wondering what are peoples thoughts and can you predict “how” a fighter might end up when shot (eg the type of shot fighter they are)
