I guess it takes away the headache of trying to figure out the scales.
Sometimes it’s awkward and they have to strip or you have 30 people standing over the boxer.

Interesting fight. Benavidez hasn't been the same monster at 175 but he's still impressive. I lean towards a decision win for him here rather than a stoppage.

I don't mind Thomas Treiber but somebody better tell him he's not in Saudi O'Rabia

Benavidez has an odd shape for a pro fighter, he looks quite flabby and has zero definition.

Yeah, I guess gives them more time to rehydrate safely as well. Or in Devin Haney’s case, add 2 stone.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025, 14:59Just copying the UFC really.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑21 Nov 2025, 14:17 Weigh in, I guess this is ceremonial..not sure why they do this

Biggest advantage of ceremonial is it can be used as a borderline press conference. It’s not as bad in boxing but in ufc people are half dead at the real weigh ins. Not a good look..

Don’t know what to make of Yarde’s career.
Has he actually deserved any of his title shots?
He’s fought the worst of the worst and then fought a couple of elites.
Nothing in between other than the only Brit level boxer which was Arthur.

Re: David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde | DAZN - 22 November 2025
Another wholehearted effort from Yarde but Benavidez is so fast and dangerous.
Benavidez can blitz opponents going forwards with dazzling combinations or he can produce devastating counters if his back is forced to the ropes.
Frankly, the last couple of rounds were painful to watch and i didn't enjoy seeing Yarde get busted up like that.
There is a lot on the line boxing at the highest level so although I was wincing at the beating being dished out...the referee timed his intervention well.

Yarde's career is going to be remembered as the guy that lost title fights and never beat anyone better than Lyndon Arthur

Losing to Arthur in one of the lowest IQ performances also.
He goes to a proper trainer experienced at World level and he would have done better. He needed to drop Tunde before the Kovalev fight. Very winnable fight that was but he was just inexperienced. You can't go into big world level fights after doing training camps with a Tunde Ajayi and having him in your corner. No offence to him but there's levels of fighters and levels of trainers.

Watched the Mason v Noakes fight and the Benevidez v Yarde fight again today.
Mason deserved the win, but that was a tough fight. His bodywork was excellent. How hard is Noakes though. No quit in that boy.
Poor old Yarde. He took a hammering. Had the pish pasted out of him bad style. Benevidez was far too much for him. Says something about the quality and toughness of guys that have taken him the distance

Re: David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde | DAZN - 22 November 2025
Anthony Yarde moving up to Cruiserweight according to Tunde.
Probably the right move, in terms of he looks too muscular at 175, but ultimately it'll be same old same old.
He should ditch his absolute fraud of a trainer.
He shouldnt fight two absolute bin men at cruiser and then jump in with Jai Optaia and get splattered before Tunde proclaims he continues to be a lion daring to be great, or some shite.
He's basically gonna end his career eithout a noteworthy win.

Yarde should just pack it in. I think he does have talent, but he's squandered it.
Re: David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde | DAZN - 22 November 2025
I don't think he squandered anything. I think he went as far as he could. His failures aren't down to lack of effort.tigermoth87 wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 10:15 Yarde should just pack it in. I think he does have talent, but he's squandered it.
