Went to the live event in Barnsley last night, 21st November.
Watched Cory Sagar v Ivan Trofimovich and was bloody disgusted with that matchmaking. Sagar 3-0 and this kid who made his debut was a bloody good lesson for Sagar. Tofimovich made his debut, and to be fair if it was a 6 rounder he would have beaten Sagar.
Trofimovich management must be setting this kid off as a journeyman and the first couple of rounds it was clear he was a raw novice but as the fight went on he came into his own and gave Sagar something to consider.
You know, Trofimovich should have had an easy opponent for his debut and gave him a decent win rather than put him in with someone who had a little experience.
Hopefully this lad's team might have seen something in this lad and decide they were wrong by giving him a hard fight rather than a run out with another novice with a poorish record.
Terrible matchmaking imo sending a decent enough raw novice on a journeyman road.
Btw, Sagar will come unstuck very quickly.
