Franck Urquiaga vs. Rafael Acosta - 6 December 2025

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Maxi Hughes to fight Rafael Acosta for vacant EBU title on December 6

Lightweights Maxi Hughes (29-7-2) and Rafael Acosta (15-1) will reportedly fight for the vacant EBU title on December 6 at the Velodrome in Dos Hermanas, Spain on a Saga Heredia promotion.

The title became vacant when Sam Noakes relinquished it to accept a world-title fight.

France's Laid Douadi was first appointed as official challenger, along with Hughes, but then pulled out and Acosta, from Spain, replaced him.

In the co-feature, EBU welterweight champion Samuel Molina (32-3-1) will make a voluntary defence of the title against an opponent to be announced.

Hughes is one of my favourite fighters.

I'd love to go to this bout. Obviously I won't be. But it's always been a dream of mine to be inside two sisters.

Maxi is now fighting a bloke with a head shaped like a lightbulb.

Undefeated Tajik fighter Bakhodur Usmonov 11(5)-0. And the fight is in Dubai not Spain.

On the undercard of Pulev v Gassiev.
