Problem with that kind of fight is that it may have been Noakes finest hour - but he didn’t win and it could have taken everything out of him.
He may never be able to pull out another performance like that and actually be able to celebrate at the end.

Time will tell. Noakes really had to 'bite down' on a number of occasions...but still landed a lot of good head & body shots to keep the fight very competitive. Sam was magnificent in the 11th round !
I'm already wondering how Noakes' performance will age given how touted Mason is

I wasn't really impressed with Mason.
You have to be getting a fighter out of there when you hurt him that much, especially to the body. He also got hit far too much. The American chaps at this level usually have good chins but he was forced to ship quite a few. Dare I say it but for all Noakes toughness he wasn't exactly the second coming of Salvador Sanchez in there. He was easy to hit but he did show great durability. I just didn't come away from the fight thinking Mason was a superstar.

I really liked the look of Mason, even more so as i still think Noakes is very good.
Mason gives me early spence vibes, not stylistically but in his attitude, calmness, workrate. Never neglects the body and it starts to wear ths opponent down.
Lw is stacked so plenty of options for both, bug also no easy fights. Even outside ths top ten theres guys who would be champs in other divisions.
