Bigger mismatch than AJ Paul

Post by Wales »

Assuming this is a genuine serious contest (no conspiracies / fixes) can anyone remember a bigger mismatch in main event boxing history than AJ against Paul.

Not taking into account fights involving young superstars against journeymen ….

Well it hasn't went down yet, but I suspect it'll be about as big a mismatch as Mike Tyson vs Peter McNeeley

Hrg vs demori.

Yarde vs Diego Jair Ramirez

Frank Sanchez vs Ramon Olivas Echeverria

Frank Sanchez vs martz

These are a few recent ones I can remember.

But there have probably been well over 100 bigger mismatches involving globally recognised names (mainly prospects but sometimes bounce backs) in over the last 5 years.

Mayweather vs Tenshin.

Mayweather was old and returned vs the super youthful and experienced Tenshin. That’s why Tenshin outboxed Floyd in the first half but Floyd relied on power to bail him out - as is he usual MO.

Based on odds: AJ vs Povetkin, Helenius and Ruiz were all "bigger mismatches".
