The lightweights / Super Lightweights discussion thread

Post by joshj909 »

Following on from Garcia's win over Haney. What does everyone think of the lightweight and super lightweight divisions? They definitely seems to be competitive and quite intriguing with a lot of quality. Although they will all likely move around the weight classes as there are only 5-7 pounds in it but we should expect to see a few more top level fights as they are mostly still young and a few have faced each other already.

Tank, Garcia, Stevenson, Haney, Lomachenko, Lopez, Kambosos are the top guys at the moment based on their records then you also have Zepeda, Martin, Keyshawn Davis, Cruz, Taylor/Catterall, Prograis and a few others queuing up. Who are the dark horses?

- How would you matchmake going forward?

- Who do you think is the best? And worst?

- With a number of the other big names in boxing coming to the end of their careers could we be seeing these divisions become the biggest divisions in the sport?

-If we were to see modern edition of the Four Kings, albeit probably with less quality, how do you think it would play out and who would be included in the exclusive category?

- Could any of them pose a legitimate threat to the top welterweights?

- Anything else?

Lomachenko is the best. He was robbed against Haney btw.
