Chris Eubank Jr. vows to fight 'health issues' before considering a ring return
Chris Eubank Jr. has vowed not to box until he can overcome his ongoing ‘health issues’ and admitted he does not know when he will be back to full fitness.
A clearly depleted Eubank looked a shell of his former self when he was soundly beaten by bitter rival Conor Benn at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on November 15.
The 36-year-old did well to complete the distance at all after he was dropped twice by his opponent in the final round of their anticipated rematch, which ended in a unanimous decision for Benn.
Around an hour after the final bell, Eubank took his seat for his post-fight press conference but refused to reveal exactly what had gone wrong during training camp, despite claiming he had been ‘to Hell and back’ to simply make it to fight night.
Now Eubank (35-4, 25 KOs) has uploaded a video to social media showing him undergoing a procedure in hospital. He appears to be under general anaesthetic while a tube with a camera is being fed down his throat.
His caption read: “I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues over the last year and yeah it all finally caught up to me last month.”
On his future, he wrote: “I will not box again until I’m back to 100 per cent and I don’t know when that will be.
“But one thing’s for certain, for the fans that have supported me through thick and thin, I will do everything in my power to make sure that one day the old me makes a big comeback.”
Eubank won his first showdown with Benn at Spurs back in April after edging their memorable 12 rounder. But things were very different in the rematch.
His famous dad Chris Sr has already insisted his son should now retire while Harlem Eubank recently told The Ring that his cousin has nothing left to prove and should consider his future.

How was he allowed to box with all these health issues? And why did his team / dad allow him to??!??
I know….. money…. But still it points to some failure in the boxers medicals if someone can be allowed to fight with serious health issues

But I do agree about the sanctioning bodies should have picked it up.

this has all been a soap opera that long since detached from professional boxing. stupid, dangerous and driven by greed. they're all to blame. i didn't bother watching any of it

Strange will release the video but won't say what the health issue is.

So senior is not the daft old boy people thought he was.
He knew the score and was perhaps privvy to what has been going on with his health and was why he was so verciferous about him not going ahead with all of it.
Can't be good starving your body of fluids like that.
Hope he makes a full recovery.

Looks like getting set up an endoscopy. I had one and was laid on my side as I had bacteria in my gut.

The only fight involving Jr I’d be interested in watching now would be a bare knuckle showdown with BJS
His days as a proper boxer are over

What a load of bollocks. If he really had serious health issues and still fought it just proves what a money grabbing arsehole he really is.
Releasing shite like this after a fight is just poor really. Pull out or fight and get beat, thats your choice. But dont come the game after.
Theres no date, context or anything to base any conclusion on.
The Eubanks are seriously tedious now. Him and his dad ard just caricatures, absolutely nothing genuine in anything they say or do.

I know a *couple of people who've had gut issues and they tend to come and go and are difficult to determine so any decision to pull out of a fight couldn't easily be made weeks before when feeling well.
*One was an international businessman who, on travelling to a remote part of Africa picked up a disease that is unique to the area, a colony of tiny Snails residing in his gut

I am a massive fan of Junior and have defended him on many occasions but I find this REALLY annoying.
I know this will make me sound old, but what is this obsession that people who are younger than me have with sharing every minor detail of their life/suffering?
What happened to biting down, facing up to what's coming and dealing with things stoically in private? I see people posting photos from dying people's bedsides FFS.
What is even worse, is this is just an endoscopy.
I have a lot of problems with my stomach and have had dozens of these things. My 92-year-old uncle had one earlier this year and walked out of the hospital 5 minutes later.
He may have something really wrong with him, but this video is no evidence of that.
It just shows something that looks dramatic in an attempt to create a narrative.
TELL US WHAT IS ACTUALLY WRONG, or deal with it Junior. Don't hint at it.

If that’s the case the scope would most likely be going up the other way!jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025, 14:24 He could have Crohn's disease or similar, it's quite common.

I had to look that up and it seems that's a worm that is passed by using Snails as the host? This was actually a colony of Snails that lived happily in his gut that gave him severe problems when they reproduced. He'd seen multiple tropical disease specialists, had a number of treatments and as mentioned in my earlier post, this disease was unique to a very isolated area in Africa which the guy next seat to him on the plane knew of. (My mate worked with diplomats, tribal leaders etc., building water treatment plants in remote locations.)jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑03 Dec 2025, 14:24Bilharzia?
