Completely agree, and the website is not at all my responsibility. I'm told this approach makes money, though - but don't worry, it is absolutely no indication of any change in style for the magazine. That will absolutely continue to contain proper, strong journalism.

I read BN from start to finish in the bath every Friday, this move to a monthly magazine it's a complete lifestyle adjustment.
Re: Boxing News to go Monthly
How will the previews work? No more previews ?
Will the do all the results at the end of each month ?

Simple, you’ll just have to take one bath a month from now onOld bones Ian wrote: ↑09 Dec 2025, 19:35 I read BN from start to finish in the bath every Friday, this move to a monthly magazine it's a complete lifestyle adjustment.

I’m looking forward to this 1st issue, I’ll definitely be buying it and hopefully buying the rest of them too
but the question is, as it comes out the day before Joshua /Paul, will they be able to resist not putting that TRAVESTY on the front page?
A dilemma, the ghosts of the past such as Harry Milan and the rest would be horrified, but you’ve got to move with the times I guess, and it’ll sell mags
Also, as Graham Houston used to often say, invariably when they go with a front page splash, the fight gets cancelled at the last minute.

I believe 18 Dec is the last weekly so presume the monthly will commence with a January editionSpud MK2 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025, 14:04when is it out?MightyWarrior wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025, 03:19 I’m looking forward to this 1st issue, I’ll definitely be buying it and hopefully buying the rest of them too

Truly the end of an era. got my Dad to subscribe to this in 1986 after he'd let his subscription go many years before, and I've been doing it on my own for 25 odd years. Monthly is a better alternative to not at all and I'll be getting behind it.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025, 15:07I believe 18 Dec is the last weekly so presume the monthly will commence with a January editionSpud MK2 wrote: ↑11 Dec 2025, 14:04when is it out?MightyWarrior wrote: ↑10 Dec 2025, 03:19 I’m looking forward to this 1st issue, I’ll definitely be buying it and hopefully buying the rest of them too

same here. I started stealing it in 1996ish when I had a paper round and progressed to paying for it in 1998ish when I got a part time job at the same newsagents. I can remember it being a newspaper style and can remember Bobby Vanzie being in it. Great memories. Especially the ‘stolen years’.Flump wrote: ↑12 Dec 2025, 09:48Truly the end of an era. got my Dad to subscribe to this in 1986 after he'd let his subscription go many years before, and I've been doing it on my own for 25 odd years. Just read the final weekly edition. What a fantastic edition. The editor column was heartfelt and also funny. And Miles Temperton take a bow, brilliant article in this edition.
I like how subscribers will still get electronic previews more regular than monthly, nice touch.
Onwards to a new era.

Re: Boxing News to go Monthly
I don't know why but getting this last edition of Boxing News Weekly has made me feel rather sad , I got my first copy when I was about 14/15 now I'm 54 and it's been a part of my life , I even still subscribed when I went travelling for a couple of years in my twenties and had all the copies to read when I got home.
I know time moves on and it's either go monthly or lose it completely, I appreciate all the guys who have written for Boxing News over the years. Cheers

Re: Boxing News to go Monthly
The fact they're going to release weekly previews to subscribers is a big help as I rely on them to know what's happening. I'm working my way through the last weekly issue now (even though it's actually a double) and it's a great read as always.
The monthly is out on January 15 so not long to wait but then the gap will be apparent. Not sure of The Ring's publication date as it appears at weird times in Smiths, and the subscription is so expensive in UK it's not worth it, but if they appeared two weeks apart then would really soften the blow.
Anyway, Fennell knows what he's doing so confident this will be a success.
