Best Fight You Ever Saw Live
Best Fight You Ever Saw Live
I was just thinking about this the other day. I've been to loads of fights & enjoyed some great nights but I don't think I've ever been at a classic back & forth war.
I suppose the one closest was Lewis v Klitschko but I felt Lennox was in control by the time the stoppage came.
Benn v Lou Gent was great fun because of the E'd up & coked up South London fans singing the whole way through. Gent had a go but Benn was just toying with him.
Kirkland Laing winning the Euro title against Antoine Fernandez was very special. The Frenchman was meant to be destined for World honours while Laing had recently been KO'd by Buck Smith. But Kirkland fucked him up in 2 rounds.
In the US I have seen Loma, B-Hop, Danny Garcia, Linares, Malignaggi, Alimkhanuly, Ramirez & others but the atmosphere rarely adds up.
Who's been at a proper tear up?

Not an elite level fight, but I loved Dunne-Schwer.
Watching it back years later it wasn’t as intense as I recalled, but at the time I was completely engaged.

I would say Taylor vs Prograis was the best fight I saw live. Not sure it counts as a war but was definitely a phone box type fight.
Chisora knocking out Szpilka is the most memorable KO I saw live. Szpilka just seemed to melt.

Corales v Castillo.
My stag do. Very good seats. Half of the boys there were my old boxing watching pals. For the other half it was the first fight they had ever been to. We agreed they should not go to a fight again. None of them have.

Re: Best Fight You Ever Saw Live
Jon Keeton v Bruce Scott lives in the memory as a fight between two reckless punchers who knocked lumps out of each other.

Froch v Groves 1 was a great one. The shock in the crowd when Groves dropped him, the outrage when it got stopped. It had a bit of everything. That's the first one that springs to mind of the big ones.

Was ringside and it gave a whole new perspective - was so visceral in terms of the ferocity of their shots and the pace.
After 3 rounds I was saying there’s just no way this is sustainable…. It was

I was going to say the same about Fury Parker, unless the fight was over a straw.paultom wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025, 14:10When did they fight ?MasterG wrote: ↑23 Dec 2025, 13:06 For atmosphere Eubank v Wharton

I was at Hatton v Kostya and Calzaghe v Lacey. Khan v Prescott was memorable, too, I've never known an arena go silent as quick.
