Yep because if you tried to make it automatic like "The guy who scores the most punches wins" then you'd just wind up with Amateur Style point scoring Boxing where people rarely throw full force punches, and nobody wants that.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:14But it is. Every single close round. I mean only an edge, and not consciously. It’s just some people will value the one crisp shot more than the 3 glancing shots. Some wont.Sendo Takeshi wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:11The outcome of a fight shouldn't be decided by who happens to be sitting around the ring, regardless of what the judges prefer.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:07 I’m actualy not shocked by the 118. It’s bad but it basically just means the judge didn’t value the sloppy arm punching pressure.
If you value it he wins henandez wins, if you don’t then it’s about 118…
As I always say, it’s n out the score that’s bad when there’s a “what you like” type fight, it’s that 99.9% of the time it goes towards who they want to win.
There is no way around that.
But, boxing judging is terrible regardless of that.

I agree, even though mma decisions feel almost as bad.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:14 But it is. Every single close round. I mean only an edge, and not consciously. It’s just some people will value the one crisp shot more than the 3 glancing shots. Some wont.

I'd say it mainly just speaks to the general public's complete lack of awareness of Picasso.Sendo Takeshi wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:15 Inoue is -4000? That's like a ~98% win percentage..
I'd be surprised if Inoue loses (also if he doesn't win by knockout), but this is nuts.
I don't think this should be a thing between the champ and one of the highest ranked contenders.

8 point card all time bad.
Re: Naoya Inoue vs. David Alan Picasso | RING V - December 27, 2025
Naka probably was 5-0 up or very close to it, so no problems with him winning, but 118 just stinks.

Thank fvck they saw his hand wraps early… would of been bad if he stopped him then they saw his tape was stacked (nothing dodgey, it’s allowed in Japan so that’s what he would be use to doing)

This all feels like something you'd have seen in Pride FC back in the day.

This guy better be superhuman, otherwise he is getting poleaxed in short time.
In which case he may well win the Nobel peace prize for barely throwing a punch

What an awful thing to do. Study neuroscience wanting to focus on fighter brains. Then go in with a murderouse puncher…
You do not want to be getting your brain rattled and be sooo conscious and aware of how bad that’s gunna be down the line.

On the plus side. If he gets his ass handed to him bad enough, he's also probably smart enough to know he should pursue another line of workgregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:31What an awful thing to do. Study neuroscience wanting to focus on fighter brains. Then go in with a murderouse puncher…

Picasso has a small head and a skinny neck. He is getting stopped early.
Also I wish they would save there money on buffer and put on an extra undercard fight instead..

Agreed. Buffer was great, but he's no more special than many of the other announcers at this point. It's just a Nostalgia thing.gregregegg wrote: ↑27 Dec 2025, 09:35 Picasso has a small head and a skinny neck. He is getting stopped early.

Fairly patient 1st round. A few good body shots from Inoue that probably got him the round, but not a lot there to separate 'em.

Fvck I love innoue. But I think he is getting a bit cocky, don’t seem scared to get hit and Mabey takes a couple he dosent need to.

He’s trying to impress Golovkin.
