Preferably they fight each other, and settle it that way. I'd still love to see AJ vs Fury and Wilder. Regardless of if he beats either one of them.

Barely anyone knew who he was over here Mickeymickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 05:21 Wilder had a much bigger impact on boxing. Las Vegas, Barclays Centre, Staples Centre... he was the last great American heavyweight and his fights were must see TV.

If it's it LA & tickets ain't silly money I might go.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 07:22 I think we can all forgive Usyk taking an easier fight, he’s definitely earned it and I’ll watch in the hope Wilder has enough to make it interesting for a bit although I have my doubts.

I don't see how that makes Wilder bigger than Joshua worldwidemickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:19I meant anything to indicate he's a big name there, like all his endorsements here, Lynx, Lucozade etc. Ryan Garcia was a pretty big deal.

Maybe they drafted actors in to play spectators at his fights, like they say North Korea do, and just made up PPV figures.Taansend wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:44Barely anyone knew who he was over here Mickeymickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 05:21 Wilder had a much bigger impact on boxing. Did he ever break 300k PPV buys other than against Fury? I'm not sure his attendance figures were matching Joshua's stadium figures either. Or they stacked the undercard with popular fighters like Amanda Serrano when he rematch Stiverne in New York because they knew tickets were not sellingmickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:49Maybe they drafted actors in to play spectators at his fights, like they say North Korea do, and just made up PPV figures.Taansend wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:44Barely anyone knew who he was over here Mickeymickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 05:21 Wilder had a much bigger impact on boxing. An American Heavyweight Champion needing a female fighter to sell tickets after being a Champ for a few years. Yes, he was a HUGE ticket seller. Wildly popular here in the States.
I hope you keep trying Mickey because this is hilarious, mate.

Would Mickey defend Wilder this much, if it wasn't for his fights against Fury? ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

Fury
Klitschko (as long as he's under 39 years and 250 days old otherwise he isn't in the top 25)
Usyk
Wilder
Ortiz
Stiverne
Chisora
Wallin
McDermott
Whyte
Schwarz
Seferi
Pianeta
Steve Cunningham
Parker
Joshua
Ngannou

Strawman argument. Is Benn a multiple time, three belt holding world champion with several successful defences including over other world champions?mickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 11:09You haven't answered if Benn is more successful than McKenzie.joshj909 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:58Did he ever break 300k PPV buys other than against Fury? By watching every fight either one of them ever had, and critiquing the performance and the level of opposition. Neither of them is separated by much.joshj909 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 04:57How did you get to that conclusion?gilgamesh wrote: ↑01 Jan 2026, 20:14Wilder rates ahead of Joshua to me, but barely. He's earned more, your criteria for success.joshj909 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 11:39Strawman argument. Hopefully they all fight each other, and remove any doubt about who belongs where historically.Frostieballs wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:20That’s a take I find very hard to understand!gilgamesh wrote: ↑01 Jan 2026, 20:14Wilder rates ahead of Joshua to me, but barely. This was part of your criteria. Having an bigger impact on boxing and having fans. Neither of which he had.mickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 11:45He's earned more, your criteria for success.joshj909 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 11:39Strawman argument. My criteria is actually beating live opponents. Something Wilder knows nothing about.mickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 05:21 Wilder had a much bigger impact on boxing. Las Vegas, Barclays Centre, Staples Centre... he was the last great American heavyweight and his fights were must see TV.

Amanda Serrano was popular when Wilder fought Stiverne? I wouldn't imagine she's very popular now even, let alone then.mickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 11:09That's happened to everyone at some point.Taansend wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:58Or they stacked the undercard with popular fighters like Amanda Serrano when he rematch Stiverne in New York because they knew tickets were not sellingmickey1975 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 10:49

I've seen Lewis, Klitschko, Hopkins, Lomachenko & loads of others at Staples so if I can top it off with Usyk that would be great.
Especially as I'll be able to say "I was there when Wilder kayoed Usyk"
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Deontay Wilder - Who wins?
A 3 weight World Champion Nuyorican (that's a Puerto Rican from New York for Mickey & Gilgamesh) & you don't think she was popular then. In New York.gilgamesh wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026, 12:00Amanda Serrano was popular when Wilder fought Stiverne? I wouldn't imagine she's very popular now even, let alone then.
You two are the gift that keeps on giving. This is a hilarious way to start off the year
