Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
When did he go away? Didn’t he announce a return about a month after his dick Turpin retirement.
Longest training camp in the history of the world. In all seriousness I do worry about his mental health. This reminds me of Ricky Hatton when post pacquiao he announced a return, was way out of shape (hitting a bag) and that “I am coming back honest” seemed to last about 2 years until he confirmed he wasn’t retiring (and then he came back again). Obviously in that period Ricky was going through a lot of torture mentally.

If Joshua decides to call it a day will Fury accuse him of ducking again ?

we'll see
Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
It's a tune-up fight isn't it? So somebody we've never heard of, probably.
Just perusing the Boxrec top 50 and thinking who Tyson would pick...
Jared Anderson: former sparring partner who Fury probably knows inside out from two camps training for Wilder, down on his luck, inactive, never in love with boxing and happy to cash out. An American too, to sell the fight to the yanks.
Washed up Joe Joyce, who Fury ducked years ago when he was still unbeaten. "If I don't fight Usyk next I'll fight you!" Fury promised, before proceeding to make Chisora 3.
Ancient Albanian Nelson Hysa, who threw his hat in the ring for an Itauma payday, would be an easy enough knockover. Unbeaten, too: which Fury will use as an obvious selling point.
Makhmudov: big stiff idiot with name recognition for beating Dave Allen who Fury would stand on his head, even this faded version.
Does anyone think Fury would fight Gassiev?
A vaguely interesting wildcard: what about plucking Mairis Briedis out of retirement? Usyk's toughest opponent. He would be unfit and out of his natural weight class, but Briedis has been up at heavyweight before and has the tools. If Fury could get a clear win over him, regardless of Briedis being rusty as f*ck, he could convince himself he had something over Usyk. I remember Briedis chasing Jake Paul for a payday before retiring, so he's not above something freakish for a payday.

I disagree. And I'm posting seriously here... I'd say Fury looks mentally better than ever.stujones wrote: ↑04 Jan 2026, 08:32 When did he go away? Didn’t he announce a return about a month after his dick Turpin retirement.

Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
Has AJs car accident made him realise that there are no guarantees in life and that he needs to act now or never....or has he seen AJ go through genuine trauma and is ready for a nibble if he thinks he's been weakened by it?
Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
Pretty sure he vs AJ was already in the works prior to the car accident.

Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
My favourite McDermott moment was when he was fighting on Sky Sports and, despite him being a big fat lump, the commentator said he'd "left it in the gym".
Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
Add Salamov, Camkiran, Xhoxhaj and Suslenkov to the list. At very very best I think he could choose Ruiz. Short, inactive, overweight, way past his best and rapidly declining while also appearing to losing his power. Unlikely though.Cyclops wrote: ↑04 Jan 2026, 09:04 It's a tune-up fight isn't it? Martin Power said on here McDermott was a very good sprinter.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑04 Jan 2026, 12:20My favourite McDermott moment was when he was fighting on Sky Sports and, despite him being a big fat lump, the commentator said he'd "left it in the gym".
Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
fury is mentally stronger than ricky (RIP). A loss is just that for tyson, Ricky let it destroy his whole identity unfortunately.
Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
It will be ironic if he actually doesn't come back!!
Realistically the only fight out there is AJ, but then is AJ coming back after the crash?
Maybe the belts will fragment

Re: Tyson Fury is Back!!
They already have. Wardley has one of 'em.
The belts fragment anytime anybody wants 'em too. If a star fighter comes back, and wants a belt, they'll just strip Usyk of one of his to give them to fight whichever guy their promoter would pay to have ranked #1
That's how the Boxing business works.
