Ike Ibeabuchi - still unbeaten, errr apparently?

Post by hard2handle »

Ike Ibeabuchi boxed Kabiru Towolawi on 24 December and lost on points...

The loss was recorded on Ike's BoxRec record - but its now disappeared!

So looking at Ike's BoxRec record he's still unbeaten!

Can't find anything on the internet regarding this...anyone know why?

Classic case of trying to hide a loss.

I suspect videos will dissappear aswell.

The fight was for the legendary WBB title. Nothing iffy about that.

So, why has the loss been taken off of Ike's record ?

To preserve his 30+ year undefeated run.

You know for certain that this was the reason BoxRec removed the bout ?

I think we always wait for the official results to come in, and this one may have been entered a bit too early.

I’ve got to think there’s something fishy going on here…

Ike’s contest on 24 Dec was sanctioned by the WBB (World Boxing Bureau) for the WBB World HW Title, on a show under the watch of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control. All sounds very official & above board.

But strangely, they don’t send the official results to BoxRec Even though highlights the official TV broadcast has been posted on the internet.
The fight footage shows the World Ike lost the match by decision.
Rather difficult now to say it wasn’t sanctioned Pro-Boxing match me thinks…

Good points. It's all very strange.
