According to a recent source that i redd recently, Burns only weighed in at 168-1/2 versus Jack Johnson in they're 1908 bout.
Johnson himself weighed in at only 194 in that bout. So basically it was a Super Middleweight versus a Cruiserweight.
Johnson would pack on some additional muscle-weight immedietely after that 1908 bout with Burns, and maintain a 205-210 type of weight fluctuation during the next couple of years.
Burns of course also, was a mere 5'7 in height, But,,,He Did have a rather lengthy reach, of 74".

With Monzon, I've noticed varied claims pertaining to his actual height. I've redd 6'0, I've Redd 5'11-3/4, and I've even seen a height of 6'2 claimed in one source. It reminds me of "Sandy Saddler", because He had various different heights claimed by various sources. "Tommy Hitman Hearns" as well.
But anyway, I'll assume an even 6 ft tall for Monzon's actual accurately measured height.
Also, His reach was a definite 76", and that's been a pretty solid documented certainty.

With all of that said, I would conclude that they would've very likely agreed to 168 in a hypothetical scenario.
Monzon was not intimidated by heavier fellows, that's for certain.
He sparred Lightheavyweight, Victor Galindez, and got the better of him, from what I researched in the past.
In conclusion, i'm going to go with Monzon in this hypothetical, by way of a hard fought decision victory.
8-6-1 in rounds for a 15 rounder.
I could see Burns possibly decking Monzon early.
Somehow I don't see the other way around.
Burns was a Human Tank.

Yes, I know Jack Johnson was quite easily ragdolling him, but that's Jack Johnson.
Monzon would be keeping Burns honest as the saying goes.
Keeping him at bay and all, but this wouldn't be a Ko Win for him. Not even a Tko win either.
Just a hard fought type of boxer-puncher Brawl of attrition, with Monzon maintaining a slight edge throughout.

The point about boxers' heights is one that peeves me. Don't know why heights aren't recorded and released by the commission like its been done in Japan. It was also done elsewhere, too. For instance, The Monster was measured at 5'4.5" at his pre-bout physical a few defenses back. Jack Dempsey was measured at 6'0"-without shoes on- at the weigh-in for the Firpo bout.

I tend to go with the shortest listed height, as it seems fighters' heights get listed as being shorter the longer they fight.
