at which point Herrera dropped to the ground celebrating. weird endings tonight. Nunez was the only one standing for the whole of the last round

Not buying the "writing was on the wall" stuff, the main event stoppage was terrible.

There is this former German female boxer on Dazn who talked about how she doesn't agree with the stoppage in the main event... because it took away Agit's chance of a clean knockout. Haha, ruthless!

this was actually the most enjoyable card overall I've watched in ages. better than the Saudi ones. add to that the Dalton Smith win and a good weekend of boxing
Re: Agit Kabayel vs. Damian Knyba | DAZN - 10 January 2026
Completely with you. Knyba won the first round quite clearly, and could’ve weathered the storm and come back and mounted something interesting. I think he was always getting stopped eventually but Jesus give the bloke a chance. The people paid to see a fight don’t just wave it off the first chance you get.
British stoppages are notoriously bad, but if I learned anything from last night it’s that German reffing is completely all over the place.

Im with you there, crowd sounded wild and it really adds to the experience even when you're sat on the settee watching.golden_labrador wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026, 06:20 this was actually the most enjoyable card overall I've watched in ages. better than the Saudi ones. add to that the Dalton Smith win and a good weekend of boxing![]()
Saudi boxing is only marginally better than the covid fights

The Kurds really came out. They were really behind Agit.

every big body shot was met with a roar from the crowd. proper atmosphere. I was even looking at going to this but time and money... wish I had now
Re: Agit Kabayel vs. Damian Knyba | DAZN - 10 January 2026
Knyba looked very competent in the 1st delivering the basics well, but when Agit upped it the 2nd & 3rd and just looked to walk through him, Knyba couldn't cope. Fair stoppage IMO.
While the Shala v Milas fight was wildly exciting, that referee needs striking off ! I tend to find myself disagreeing with many on early stoppages, but even Milas compassionately motioned for the ref to call a halt to proceedings when Shala was clearly spent.
If Shala's condition wasn't the very definition of "not in a position to defend himself" then I don't know what is !

That Milas stoppage made the Simpson referee look compassionate.

you do wonder if a ref has been leant on or threatened beforehand in these situations, especially given the criminal element often involved behind the scenes in boxing (and most sport tbh). Germany is no different either.THEBUTCH wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026, 08:21 Knyba looked very competent in the 1st delivering the basics well, but when Agit upped it the 2nd & 3rd and just looked to walk through him, Knyba couldn't cope. Just watched all the highlights. Looked like some good fights but the referee stoppages were shocking. Fury fight never should've been stopped. The Milas fight went way too long. The Kabayel fight should've kept going for a few more minutes as he was taking damage on the back foot but he was still in the fight.
Re: Agit Kabayel vs. Damian Knyba | DAZN - 10 January 2026
My explanation for the appalling referee in the Milas v Shala fight is that he was just completely inept. He should never be allowed near a boxing contest ever again. He was that bad in the 10th round !

The Milas fight reminded me of Brewster v Krasniqui, the ref in that fight literally stopped counting at 8 or 9 while Krasniqui spent another 10 seconds stumbling to his feet before getting starched a round later.
Posted below as it was a good old heavyweight slugfest.

Yep, and a bunch of them are well past prime anyway. Even Uysk.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026, 18:08 They saying the HW division is thriving..

reminded me of agit's fight vs smackici, fights the guy in round 1 like he has no respect for him and takes too many shots, but then breaks him shortly after. not a good showing but id expect him to be sharper vs a more dangerous opponent (weve already seen he is)

he didn't complain when the ref finally decided he'd seen enough ("different times")
