Kell brook and Tyson Fury, you could say, were very lucky to get such fair judges, because those fights could’ve easily gone the other way, decision wise, and no one would’ve been complaining for very long. I mean Brook definitely won, but it wasn’t an overwhelming win and we’ve seen much worse home town decisions than him not getting that.

And Fury, with that pitypat decision in one of the most boring heavyweight fights ever seen, would’ve been quickly forgotten if Wlad had got a narrow hometown win, because it was such a dull fight, not many would’ve been yelling from the rooftops about Tyson getting ripped off for very long.

Jackie Berg's win over Kid Chocolate in New York was massive at the time (1930) as Kid Chocolate was a bit of a phenomena (Berg beat him again later).

Berg also has a win over Tony Canzoneri, who he later lost to for the title, on American soil.

Also there's Jem Driscoll's win over Abe Attell in New York. Unfortunately for him, it was a non-title/newspaper decision fight, so he didn't get Attell's world title.

Agreed. The old timers tend to get overlooked.

For 'Kid Berg' to beat the unbeaten 'Kid Chocolate' in New York should be regarded in far high esteem, but for obvious reasons is not, specifically because how long ago and the fact that 99% of us were not even born, it gets lost in the annuals of time.

Had to go with Lloyd as that is one that stands out for me. Stracey beating a somewhat faded Mantequilla is also noteworthy but I was barely out of the womb at that time.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. Evander Holyfield is a bigger name to have beaten than Donald Curry, but Honeyghan beating Curry was definitely a WAY bigger upset.

Curry was being built up as the next Sugar Ray Leonard.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. Evander Holyfield is a bigger name to have beaten than Donald Curry, but Honeyghan beating Curry was definitely a WAY bigger upset.

I actually thought Holyfield 2 was one of Lewis’s worst performances, was genuinely worried he hadn’t done enough to win. Haven’t ever watched it back so maybe was nervous for no reason, but that’s definitely my memory. Justice after the robbery of the first fight, regardless.

I went for Honeyghan's seismic win over Curry.

The other overseas win that is a bit of a favourite of mine is Froch beating Jermain Taylor in the USA. Taylor was still live & dangerous and the manner of Froch's victory was as dramatic as it gets !
