Records need to be corrected: Leslie Borden was not Chuck Borden

Leslie Borden's record contains fights for Chuck Borden. They are not the same fighters.

When Tom Burns fought Chuck Borden in 1972, Borden was reported to be from Resport, Oregon. Leslie Borden is from Montreal. Chuck Borden weighed 218 for this fight, Leslie 99% of the time weighed under 200lbs. Chuck Borden was a different fighter. He fought Duane Bobick, George Jerome, not Leslie Borden.

This intrigues me greatly as I have interviewed people in Canada regarding Leslie Borden. I was told that there were times when an impersonator would be announced as "Leslie Borden" and the fans didn't know the difference. However, I was never told that anyone called "Chuck" was involved or that Leslie was nicknamed-if you will-"Chuck". I'll try to check some Canadian newspapers as I remember a pretty good profile that was done on Leslie. He may also have been profiled prior to his bout with Jerry Quarry.

I didn't find any references to Leslie being called "Chuck". The coverage of the Quarry bout said it was a good fight and Borden was called a "likeable" and "refreshing" man.

The linked photo isn't enough to prove it wasn't Leslie Borden who fought Bobick ? Why ?

Looks quite probable to me, different angles but both have a wide hair parting.

The Chuck Borden who fought Burns was billed as fighting out of Eugene, Oregon. The Chuck Borden who fought Bobick had an announced record of 3-3 and was billed from Vancouver. Also, his purse was withheld after the Bobick fight because he didn't try to fight, threw no punches. Leslie Borden was known for taking murderous beatings. Maybe they are the same guy, but it seems to me that's it's very possible they aren't.

From the Australian papers I found that Leslie Borden was a detective for the Montreal police department.
