Atang gets “the stoppage”…

I can’t blaim the guy for just deciding to go down if he gets paid the same… but wasn’t hurt, just decided to not spend another 5 mins being a punching bag.

I've got Turhan by dec - I know she's the exciting KO woman, but still seems a massive price for distance in Women's fight.
Plus Taylah (sic) was talking a lot about how she "struggles with movers" and "Obviously I've gotta stay out of the way"

Sean - what is your podcast ? 'bout time I listened/like/subscribed and whatnot...

Also main event - must need my head examined, but I'm picking The Pretty Boy !

When it was announced I figured KO4, when I saw the odds I thought "easy money Murt" but...

Injuries, inactivity and Kelly's mindset - the "nappy factor" is a big thing in sports betting - if ever there is a guy who "can put it all together on the night" and it's good enough to win a dec it's Kelly. He's a very talented boy, he has home advantage and it's only really the Tsyzu fight where Murt looked a monster.

Hello mate. I don’t have a podcast myself, I don’t do social media much. I use LinkedIn for work as I write boring stuff about housing. I go on Porkys Corner most weeks, it’s his channel but he’s kind enough to let me on. There is a thread on here called Porkys Corner I post some of the output on there when I’m on it just in case anyone is interested. I’ve no aim to ever do one myself I’m just good friends with Porky and he’s been really good to me especially while I’ve been ill etc and lets me on regularly which I really enjoy.

If this Turkish girl ever learns proper footwork, and moving into punching range before letting the shot go she's gonna be near unstoppable. As is, she could be outboxed.

They need to keep getting her practice against this type of opponent though. This is the flaw in her game that she must improve to remain Champion. Anyone trying to slug it out with her is f*cked.

I got her up 4-1 here. She hasn't really landed the big punches yet, but the other girl has been on the run almost entirely since the 1st. She countered her good in the 1st, but seems to have burnt it all up there.

She is women’s wilder. She just throws bombs that’s why she is “powerful” but when she is hardly landing it has the coms sounding very very stupid. She will likely win and get there eventually. But they are talking by up the golden Turk in rounds she hasn’t landed a shot….

I'd have it 5-2 for Turhan

Gentzen got the 1st and the 6th for me. She's mostly been on the defensive too much to get most of these rounds though.

Just got up 6am put this on 2 women are on watched 1 rnd and turned it over .why oh why do they have this shite on when theres so many good fighters begging for a break . I.ll go back for the main event its an interesting one . Kelly is.nt a bad fighter Murta. I think may have the edge . But cant help but wonder did his win over Tzu flatter him . Because to be honest i dont rate Tim Tzu at all always said when he meets someone with a chin and technique he would get exposed .theres levels and Kelly is a higher level than Tim .. interesting one good day for boxing theres this show the Azin fight and later on Stevenson .. so much for my planned 7 am departure for a 4...500 klm ride i was planning .

I actually like this Turkish girl, but in general I'd agree with you that I'm not too keen on 99% of Women's Boxing they put on.

Tougher fight than I expected. Maybe she was a bit tired having just her won her World title last month, and making her first defense already, but I think she retained it 8 rounds to 2.

Well I guess someone wasn’t scoring just winging haymakers at air…

I don’t know if the Turk landed a clean shot in the first 6 rounds…. Still probably won a couple of them from both clean punches but I can see a judge going against her on them…

I thought the last 3 or 4 were pretty clear for the Turk though. (Mabey I can’t completly remember it)

I’d quite like to see the punch stats.

Don't know. They were giving the girl too much credit for defense in my opinion. All she was doing in most rounds was running and defending. It's not that the Turkish girl beat her up exactly, but Gentzen certainly didn't take her title away from her.

I'm glad the judges got it right at least. That's the main thing. An inch is as good as a mile as Angelo Dundee would say when it comes to a decision win.

Missing is one thing but being aggressive vs defensive, hardly landing anything at all, just falling in and grabbing doesn't win you rounds, either.

But it is what it is.

Probably would've been pretty close as far as punches landed. The Turkish girl would've thrown probably 100 or 150 more punches.

She won the fight on activity mainly. Needs to work on using her feet to get into punching range. THere were many rounds where the Turkish girl won the round though because she was only one in there fighting. Anytime the Aussie girl would buckle down and fire back at her. She needed 3 rounds to breathe and recuperate to do it again. That ain't gonna get it.

To be fair, it's an abysmal undercard. I've never heard of either of these women, and I feel like I pay fairly close attention. According to the bookies the Padley fight is a foregone conclusion and it's nowhere near what you'd expect for a typical euro title fight.

It's sold pretty well though, so should fill up

Some of those big misses are so ugly I can’t blaim see how a judge could almost take points (not literal points) away from a round for them….

That shouldent happen but you also shouldent get credit for absolutely bashing up the atmosphere.

It all comes down to punches landed and in fights like that it’s hard to even know. I’d love to see an edit that just shows a half second clip of each punch cleanly landed…. Because you can get lost in the pressure ect.

I still think Turk was landing more Mabey…

She definitely needs work for sure.

In the meantime. I had to run an errand. Did they mention how the Shakur fight changed Padley's life while I was gone as predicted?
