Bugner was a much better fighter than Audley Harrison, and from what I remember Frazier was doing most of the bashing.
It was on KOTV the other night and it did look as if Frazier was doing the bashing in what limited rounds were shown. The left hook that slammed into Bugner's jaw was brutal. The delayed reaction from Bugner was classic.

From the BBC
Audley Harrison insists he is a changed man as he attempts to get his career back on track against Matt Skelton.

Harrison, 34, has failed to fulfil his potential after winning Olympic gold in 2000 but says he has now rediscovered his appetite for the sport.

"You get comfortable - you can't get up in the morning when you've got your silk pyjamas on," said Harrison.

"But I'm back, I'm hungry, I'm awake now. I think what was going on out of the ring was affecting me."

Harrison's stock plummeted to an all-time low following back-to-back defeats against Danny Williams and Dominick Guinn.

The US-based Londoner knocked out little-known American Andrew Greeley inside three rounds in his comeback fight in June.

Now, after landing a title shot against Commonwealth champion Skelton, he is determined not to let another chance slip through his grasp.

"I've been to every premier and every event there can be, I've travelled round the world, I've done that celebrity thing," he said.

"People are still phoning me to go on this or that TV programme. But now I've got a different mentality."

Each fight is a learning process for me

Harrison will face 39-year-old Skelton at the Excel Arena in London on 9 December, with the winner promised a shot at a world title by promoter allegedly.

Skelton, who beat Williams on points in July to win the Commonwealth crown, is confident of victory but says he will not be underestimating Harrison.

"Ultimately, Audley's an Olympic champion and he's still got something there," said the former kick-boxing champion.

Skelton has been criticised for his boxing style, but is unrepentant.

"I'm still learning - each fight is a learning process," he said.

"If this fight is called pretty, all fair and well. But if I fight ugly and still win, I'll be happy."
I see Mr Warren has said the winner gets a World Title shot, haven't we heard that before somewhere? :D

How many times do we have to here Audley say he's not going to let another chance slip by? At his age if he hasn't figured out it will take hard work to reach the top he never will.

After turning pro under the fanfare of being an Olympic Gold medallist, Audley was quick to point out that he was the World Champion elect, topping bills in a lucrative contract with the BBC. It is now 6 years since his Sydney 'heroics' and how much nearer is he to achieving his avowed aim? With unimpressive wins and even less impressive performances in defeat (against mediocre opposion), I think it is fair to say that Harrison has had enough chances to get the British fight fan onside.

A pumped up Harrison against Skelton may well prove the turning point in his career, but on past showings it looks unlikely. He is fast becoming the Joe Bugner of the noughties, but that is probably doing Bugner a disservice. Perhaps this fight should be billed as 'Last Auders in the Last Chance Saloon'.

I say this and I was quite enthusiastic about what he might achieve in the pro game. He needs to show much more heart and determination to back up his cheap talk because the world of boxing is littered with Olympic gold medallists that did not qite make the grade.

News on it on BBC News 24 now.

Warren giving the usual bullshit saying the winner will get a world title shot, even though If Audley wins, he ain't even promoted by Warren!

Audley saying he's hungry too and believes it's his last chance.

Maybe FW will be able to give a Don King like quote, "I walked into the ring with the HW World Title challenger and left the ring with a HW World Title challenger". Now that would be funny, wouldn't it, allegedly of course?

Whatchoo talkin bout Willis? :o

Audley couldn't knock out a greenfly! :o

For Audley to KO an opponent inside 3 the opponent would have to be extremely poor (like most of his opponents) & Skelton, though not great, is certainly better than most of the men he has fought (I use that term loosely in Audley's case). :box: :P

Terry you really think Harrison will be marching inside? Come on. He will try and win the fight doing as little as possible with the jab and occasional cross as he has always done. There is no way he is going to get on the inside with Skelton.

Despite the gulf in class in terms of skills, I just get the feeling Audley is going to shit his pants and Skelton is going to maul him. Skelton might not be much in terms of skill, but he is a big intimidating bloke, and he won't give Audley much if any respect. That's why I see Audley losing this one by a wide decision.

Skelton would pressure him more than Williams and Guinn did though so I can see Skelton stopping Harrison.

Can't believe we're still talking about Audley Harrison.

He'll probably entertain us with another one of his brilliant Mahatma Ghandi impressions once Matt starts to hit him back.

Scary thing is, if he manages to win it, he'll be in line for a title shot and we'll be subjected to another long build up as he "tunes up" for his destiny.

Please god he doesn't win, I don't want to have to listen to Audley bigging himself up again. I was one of those vouching for his abilities early on, but even in today's heavyweight scene he has zero chance of prospering unless someone of incredibly low levels of ability and desire gets a belt.

Say what you will but the Harrison v Skelton fight has made all of the papers this morning and not your usual quarter page story either but full double page spreads in some.

He may lack fighting heart/have let us down in his performance/be a bit of a nob but he still brings media attention to a minority sport. Surely we should all be hoping he actually comes to fight and gives a good account of himself which means beating the likes of 74 year old Matt Skelton who, whilst being an honest hardworking likeable pro, is not going to make waves in the division.

Audley Harrison might bring attention to the sport, but that in my book is not a good thing. Every time he's in a big fight he stinks the joint out and everyone thinks "god, boxing is shit."

In fact when I asked someone at the MMA show last weekend what they thought of boxing, they said and I quote..."I follow Hatton and some of the others, but to be honest I can't really be bothered with boxing any more, I mean, look at that wanker Audley Harrison, who the feck wants to watch that pile of shit."

So I ask you, is it good that Harrison trades of his gold medal and gets another undeserved opportunity?

I live in blind hope that we'll see Harrison coming out throwing hard jabs and straight lefts at Skelton on the way in and landing big uppercuts on the inside when Matt gets there. Now he's made his money and is pretty much slaughered by every boxing fan around surely restoration of pride is his only reason to continue??
Harrison is going to continue to bring attention and people I know that follow boxing on a casual basis tend to just think it's all fat crap heavyweights nowdays and i'd rather he pissed off than put us all through another Williams like display. But if anyone is going to make him fight it's a fighter like Skelton (unless he goes back into Ali mode :P )

Just trying to be a little optimistic, i'm not even a Harrison fan, tomorrow i'll probably slate him

While its quite possible Harrison might go for broke as he is in the last chance saloon history points to heartless fighters always being so.

But it makes it a much, much harder thing to do. Nelson went up to heavyweight and built up his confidence over a period of years fighting world class guys, people are hoping that Audley can do it in the space of one fight with a journeyman in a few months.
