Seems that the Trump administration's FCC stooge, Carr, has inadvertently given the Texas democrat running in the democratic primary as boost. Carr threatened CBS (owned by Paramount ghoul Larry Elison) if it gave airtime to the democratic hopeful.

As a consequence Talisco's profile surged as people searched for him online, and their youtube channel.

Of course CBS and the FCC are denying any interference, saying it was just 'guidance' but we all know what the issue is really, not wanting to upset Daddy Trump, who doesn't want his minions giving airtime to anybody he thinks might have a chance of flipping texas.

Jalisco is a former presbyterian minister, who is campaigning on a platform of how the billionnaite elites are against the teaching of the good book, whereas Jasmine Crockett is a well known MAGA lightning rod often criticised on Fox.

It also looks like the redistricting in Texas has backfired, as changers in voting patterns from latinos, means that many districts are likely to lean Democrat.

If Dems ever get back in charge they could use the FCC “equal time” rule to go after talk radio, which is overwhelmingly made up of right-wing “influencers” who have Republican guests on every day in the US. I am not a fan of such shows from the right- or left, but the FCC lap dog is setting a dangerous precedent in trying to influence media under the commission’s jurisdiction to stifle or cancel Trump critics. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dems try to put cable stations under the FCC to go after Fox. I hope it doesn’t come to that, but as with a lot of things, Trump has opened a Pandora’s box

I don't think we have an equivalent in the UK yet, because we still have some restrictions on what news channels can get away with.

Fox being reigned in would be no bad thing, as the same rules would apply to all it's competitors also.

Oh, Fox is propaganda garbage and has been for decades but I am not sure it is the government’s job to police political speech and what stations air. If the FCC had jurisdiction over CNN and MSNBC (or whatever it is called now) Trump’s lapdog would probably be trying to shut them down.

It’s really a pretty good strategy for Trump to get his boot-licking billionaire buddies to buy up big media, install MAGA managers and turn them into mouth-pieces for the administration. The same guy who bought CBS is trying to get CNN, I believe. Bezos has gone full-on MAGA and gutted the Washington Post recently. New York Times, which is liberal, and Murdock’s Wall Street Journal, which is old-school conservative, still do some great reporting and I don’t see them changing ownership any time soon

Well, it comes as no surprise to see, that Trump is signing deals with Russia, with talks still ongoing and sanctions in place, of course through a proxy that is connected directly with his own family.

Well, it seems the Supreme Court, has finally found the limits of the power of the president, at least where trade is concerned.

This will get interesting for sure, there is no higher court to appeal to, so Trump is likely to fly into a rage over this.

100% I was raised in a very devout Catholic family and we didn’t go around pounding our chests about it and telling people they had to join our tribe or follow our flawed thinking on the bible. He’s already effed up relations with trading partners, but at least even his hand-picked SC found he’s overstepped his authority
