I see a lot of critisism on female boxing here

Post by Sweet Dick Willie »

Why is that? I've gotten into it lately cause my daughter started boxing. Plus I have a huge crush on Mikaela Mayer. Hope she reads this and yes I'm single...

Of course there is worry though. I would like to see her compete but it's totally up to her. She also rides horses which is far more dangerous. But you can't live on fear.

"Live on fear", is that grammatically correct?

She's a tough girl, 12 years old and training with the same 16 year old boys that I spar with.

I think it's mainly just that half the people think Women's Boxing tends to be dull, and many more are uncomfortable watching a lady get her faced all bloodied up.

So it falls into the camp of just "who needs it"

I suppose compulsive gamblers who just can't get enough things to bet on, and the very rare girl that fighting would appeal to is mainly who its for, but I wouldn't look for a lot of Mainstream appeal out of many of these girls.

It's a young section of the sport where the depth isn't there yet. Some of the fights between the top female boxers are great. It will grow in time in terms of quality and fanbase. It will likely never reach the level of the men's but you will see some good fights and some good purses in the future amongst the best female boxers.

Most of the hate is down to insecurity or lack of respect for what some of the women can do. It's perfectly fine to watch a match that's not at the highest level in other sports, most only have a problem when it's women so you can understand what the issue is.

I don't watch all the higher profile fights but I'll watch the ones where I suspect it will either be a highly competitive or higher skilled fight.

I like the girls that can crack. Elif Nur Turhan is usually good fun. Needs to work on her footwork, but she's got good power in her right hand.

For the most part a 10 round decision in a kinda sloppy fight that could go either way is the norm for most of these Women's fights though, but some are a cut above the others.

There are some fights I have seen where had there been 3 minute rounds, we’d see more stoppages.

2 minutes are nothing and no wonder most fights go the distance.

Anytime we have 3 minute rounds instead of 2 minute rounds. We have 10 more minutes of wasted time on the card in my opinion.

Women's boxing sucks and I have no interest in it. I am not critical of it, because in order to be critical of something one would at least have to have a minimal amount of interest in it which I don't.
