Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Is Itauma v Allen likely? Depending on how good Franklin is next month, Moses could be cruising past Dave.

While I get what you mean, can you imagine what a nightmare that creates for the editors to have to go back, and further clarify what kinda knockout a knockout was?gregregegg wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026, 16:08Leo is the one that loses with stoppages like that.mickey1975 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026, 15:13 Poor stoppage. The thing is, Leo will do that to a lot of opponents because of his speed. I've no doubt Garber could have gone on.
You miss learning how to Finnish and you miss building your highlight tape.
I think all standing stoppages should be noted as a seperate thing in boxrec so like KO, TKO, TKO-S (TKO standing)….
Or minimum should have that noted in boxes (the little notes bit they mention knockdowns in). Don’t get me wrong there are deserved standing stoppages but it’s a different things
I think for simplicity's sake a KO (as in down for count of 10) or TKO (any other kinda stoppage) works just fine. The stoppages that they call RTD stoppages, I just call them TKO's as well because it all amounts to the same thing. A stoppage.

We need Dave Allen vs Usyk. It's the only logical fight.
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Well damn MasterG I was hoping you'd finally get at least a few minutes of some action here. Was a fun 60 seconds though
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Dave Allen vs David Adeleye
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Dave might as well have stayed in bed today, for all the good that did him. But I’m looking forward to one or two big nights ahead, where he is up against it.
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Made him a quick buck. Made him a little more marketable for his next fight. It was worth his time. He didn't learn anything there, but at this stage of his career I think he is what he is anyhow. It's all about how you match him.
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
I say give him Adeleye, then a Trilogy fight with Johnny Fisher, then Chisora.
In that order preferably, but any order you like will due.

I bet the crowd loved it. Whatever you think of Dave, he's wildly popular. Looked in bad shape tonight though, even for him.
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
The greeting Dave got was unbelievable. This kd needs a British title shot. He is the people's champion and he's getting fights that are getting him nowhere. I'm sat here in the arena and the crowd went mental for Dave.

I agree with Bellew that British title would be aiming too low. But can Dave actually get into proper shape.mickey1975 wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026, 16:17I bet the crowd loved it. Whatever you think of Dave, he's wildly popular. Looked in bad shape tonight though, even for him.

I really hope dave gets the right fights... the brittish is cool, but i kinda think riachpoor will get it and is too good for dave.
Going for absolute top shelf options with some interesting winability.... (these are unlikly i guess but do those guys have better opptions?)
could you sell whyte vs Allen 2?
AJ comback fight?
Zhang comback fight?
Labinot Xhoxhaj euro shot?

AJ vs Dave Allen would do huge business, but it'd be a huge mismatch in all likelihood. Whyte vs Allen 2...yeah I could see that one.gregregegg wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026, 16:26 I really hope dave gets the right fights... the brittish is cool, but i kinda think riachpoor will get it and is too good for dave.

Seeing Zhang come back against anyone would be interesting so I'd be down for that.
Labinot Xhoxhaj is probably the hardest sell there, and the hardest name to remember
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
I think Allen will end up fighting Itauma, one way or another.
Re: Round-by-Round: Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington II | DAZN - 21 February 2026
Remind me how much DAZN Ultimate is, I can’t swerve the Wardley v Dubois shootout.

Dave is realistic. The British title would be perfect for Dave.
He entered the arena with the Sinatra song 'I did it my way' the song it fitting. Dave deserves a British tile shot. No point in saying Dave is better than British title as he may not win the Euro title. Dave deserves a British title shot

There is a meet on the cobbles after the event. Leeds v Forest. My 13 year old grandson is ok with us going before we go back to our digs

I can’t help but sense a bias with Adam Smith particularly, with Josh Kelly sat next to him, as he bigs up a Davis who is a Kelly scalp.
Plenty more to happen in this fight yet.

I think AJ is winnable at a stretch. basicaly reliant on AJ being in a state where he shouldent be boxing. hasnt looked great for a couple of years, and got in a bad car crash and had 2 mates die... Is he sleeping good? you spend a few months sleeping badly suddenly my boy dave has a sniff... But even if AJ is all good... i think the AJ fight is worth losing for...margaret thatcher wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026, 16:52you think aj is winnable? are we still on this dave allen delusion train in 2026?gregregegg wrote: ↑21 Feb 2026, 16:26 I really hope dave gets the right fights... the brittish is cool, but i kinda think riachpoor will get it and is too good for dave.
