Going for absolute top shelf options with some interesting winability.... (these are unlikly i guess but do those guys have better opptions?)

could you sell whyte vs Allen 2?

AJ comback fight?

Zhang comback fight?

Labinot Xhoxhaj euro shot?
you think aj is winnable? are we still on this dave allen delusion train in 2026?

'well dave got an iron cheen so might be able to gas him out'....didnt work vs big mak, didnt even work vs david price
I think AJ is winnable at a stretch. basicaly reliant on AJ being in a state where he shouldent be boxing. hasnt looked great for a couple of years, and got in a bad car crash and had 2 mates die... Is he sleeping good? you spend a few months sleeping badly suddenly my boy dave has a sniff... But even if AJ is all good... i think the AJ fight is worth losing for...
big mak got his ass whooped twice shortly before and was looking past it and still beat dave handily. price had been levelled so many times people wanted him to retire, and he still beat dave easily. a younger fresher dave couldnt even beat lenroy thomas. big fraze clark who was falling short at british level 3x now stopped dave. you are delusional about dave i think , aj would smash him without a problem

Leo is the one that loses with stoppages like that.
You miss learning how to Finnish and you miss building your highlight tape.

I think all standing stoppages should be noted as a seperate thing in boxrec so like KO, TKO, TKO-S (TKO standing)….

Or minimum should have that noted in boxes (the little notes bit they mention knockdowns in). Don’t get me wrong there are deserved standing stoppages but it’s a different things
While I get what you mean, can you imagine what a nightmare that creates for the editors to have to go back, and further clarify what kinda knockout a knockout was?

I think for simplicity's sake a KO (as in down for count of 10) or TKO (any other kinda stoppage) works just fine. The stoppages that they call RTD stoppages, I just call them TKO's as well because it all amounts to the same thing. A stoppage.
I definitely think they should stop calling it a TKO when the fighter goes down like they've been shot and the referee stops it immediately because he's not beating the count in a thousand years and needs medical attention. There's no meaningful distinction between that and a KO. Just because you knocked him out so badly they didn't have time to carry out the count doesn't mean you shouldn't get the credit for a full KO.

That's only an issue though if you see a KO as having more meaning than a TKO. I don't. A stoppage is a stoppage is a stoppage.

Obviously everyone remembers the brutal ones where a guy gets sparked out more than the less emphatic ones, but it's not as if the people who see the fight forget what it is they saw is it?

ko/tko are just technicalities, you can have brutal tkos and weak ass kos. gotta actually watch what happened to see

usually the most brutal knockouts a ref wont bother counting to 10 for the traditional 'ko',

one weird thing though, is when a fighter retires in the corner in mexico, and the ref goes over and counts him out while the guy is sitting there awkwardly

But I do see it as having more meaning, it certainly gives me more information when I'm reading a record. Guys with more straight KOs (all other things being equal) are almost inevitably better finishers, usually hit harder.

it really depends on the rules where they are. some places, if the ref waives it off without counting to 10 its a tko. in that case, the most brutal finishes will almost always be a tko, not a ko.

These days you most commonly see the full 10 count on body shot KO's, but every now and again it'll be a head shot still. It's gotta be one where it's conceivable the guy might get up though.

If he hits the canvas like a sack of potatoes, that sh*t's over, and it should be.

most 10 counts i see these days tbh are when a guy is just too worn out and keeps himself down. the most brutal finishes the ref will wave it off before it gets close to 10. of course, there are a lot of soft ref stoppages too. you really have to see what happened, i wouldnt judge off tko vs ko

Its less i think dave can beat AJ, its more the crazy world where he would arguably be some chance at getting the fight... (low chance but if AJ wants a comeback..)... and if it happened, who knows.... it could be like post covid povetkin...

Rubbish commentary on this fight.

Davies simply got tired. Conditioning not there, not about what Fawaz has done. Lots of shots from him but so much missing or pitter pat.

Fawaz is a seriously fit guy, clearly very strong mentally.

Well, sure, but my point is: I wish they didn't distinguish the two. If KO encapsulated both "didn't in fact beat ten count" and "was never going to beat ten count" it would be more meaningful for the purpose of understanding a fighter's record without having to find the footage (which you can't always)

I've actually got it 115-113 Davis,, gave him the first 7 and Fawaz the last 5, a lot of the early rounds were cagey, Fawaz too passive, too much posturing, acting smug after taking clean right hands, Davis boxed well behind his jab from both stances, switches so seamlessly but is too passive himself sometimes and he just gassed second half, Fawaz grew in confidence, started letting his hands go and clearly won the later rounds, Davis can't have any complaints really, he was far too reactive after a good start
