Former domestic 2 time British title challenger, Jimmy Vincent and current Cruiserweight mandatory challenger, Rob Norton, both make a return to ring after a period of inactivity in Birmingham on Monday.

So far their opponents haven't been announced, but both could make excellent re-additions to their devision.

I personally think, Vincent was caught a little cold vs Michael Jennings after a bright start. He is normally very durable and certainly a clash with Anderson would be a thriller. Both don't take a backward step.

Rob Norton is probably the favourite to take over the domestic scene as Hobson has debated. He will more than likely face the winner of Swaby vs Keeton - it will be interesting to see how he performs in this warm up.

Anyone have any news on the opponents, been looking forward to hearing about Vincent's return especially for a while.

I agree, a Jimmy Vincent v Kevin Anderson would be exciting, but only as long as it lasted, Anderson would hammer him IMO. I think Jimmy has too many miles on the clock, Ando is defo the man to beat now after he showed his metal against Mut. But dont really think Vincent deserves a shot to be honest, think there are more deserving contendors.

Yes, I do agree - but not many are really putting their hands up either.

If the BBBoC do a mini tournament (two eliminators, and the winners meet in a final eliminator) then Vincent would deserve to be in that.

Yeah, I think that would be fair enough. Your right about "not many putting their hands up" funny that? There are usually contendors shouting off about beating the champ, but haven't heard any putting Anderson down and coming out with the trash talk? Maybe it's because he's taken a good learning curve to the title, takes a hell of a punch, and as we've learned from the Mut fight Kev is still dangerous in the later rounds of a fight. Don't think theres a welterweight in Britain that could beat him on his day.

There had been a momour that Jim would box Matt Macklin if Matt had won the British title. As Matt would have made his first defence in Brum.

Stu- I'm phoning up Pat Cowdell today and will find out the opponents for both Rob and Jim. Rob was orginally meant to fight Hastings Rasani but he pulled out a few days back.

Blackpool's Matthew Ellis takes on Epworth's Chris Woollas in a clash of comebacking heavyweights at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday (October 7), promoted by Errol Johnson and PJ Rowson.
The 32-year-old Ellis, once hailed the best heavyweight prospect in the country, hasn't fought since Liverpool giant Tony Moran stopped him after four rounds in Glasgow in October 2003 (corner retirement). Moran dominated but Ellis aggravated a shoulder problem and already has two wins over experienced Woollas, a regular on the domestic circuit up to his last outing in December 2004.
It's scheduled for four.
Also on the bill, Rob Hunt goes for his third straight win when he faces Birmingham veteran Karl Taylor in a six-rounder at light-welter. Hunt hails from nearby Stafford, where he is a big ticket-seller - the first Stafford pro in over a decade. In another six-rounder, Walsall's unbeaten Matthew Hough takes on Birmingham-Pole Magic Kidem, while classy West Bromwich southpaw Marcus Portman continues his comeback against Cambridge man Ben "Catweazle" Hudson in a four-rounder.
