Garcia hasn’t lost even close to a round. Easy shutout.

Glad you were watching it in Australia! No disrespect. I thought Hiraoka won his fight. Weird scorecard there.

I still had hope for Barrios, but it’s official: he’s @ss. Almost losing to a 50 year old man and getting dominated by the guy who lost a decision to Rolly is..embarrassing for a "world champ"..
Also, what is the deal with Steve Weisfeld? He’s a total bum. I don’t know how many times he’s messed up recently. Someone needs to retire that fool. Reis and Feldman should go right along with him.

It is not about how good Garcia is, but how bad Barrios is. Anyway, decent win for Garcia. What happened to Hitchins - Duarte match?

I think to do with the next day weight limit.

Apparentley he made the weight as well, but I don't think he can make the weight comfortably anymore.
Probaly should go up.

Per Team Hitchins: He was about 148 when he woke up, had some water and easily made the morning weigh-in. No issue. Went with the team for breakfast. Started throwing up within the next hour and vomited several times since. So fight is off.
Re: Mario Barrios vs. Ryan Garcia | DAZN - February 21, 2026
One sided fight.
Garcia was pretty sharp in there at times and has some decent snap to his punches, his boxing ability is limited though and he seems to rely a a few shots to get him through.
Barrios never looked like a threat and he seemed to run out of ideas, the lack of real pressue and dogged persistence never arrived.
Ok fight though even if the outcome was determined long before the final bell.

They should make Haney vs Garcia 2 as fast as possible, before Ryan looks like sh!t again.
That fight would make numbers.

Garcia Doesn't Rate Barrios Victory As Best Performance
In arguably the most important fight of his career, Ryan Garcia turned in a dominant performance to beat Mario Barrios and become the WBC welterweight champion.
But was it his best performance? He says no. Garcia still holds his seventh-round knockout of Luke Campbell in high regard five years after their back-and-forth clash.
“I’m always going to love the Luke Campbell one,“ Garcia said during his post-fight press conference. “That's one that's always skipped in my heart that I had to fight through, got knocked down, was dazed, so that was always going to be up there for me. This (the Barrios victory) was my most mature performance, for sure.”
Garcia (25-2, 20 KOs, 1 NC) overcame a second-round knockdown to drop and stop the 2012 Olympic gold medalist with a left hook to the liver in 2021. He didn’t face such adversity against Barrios (29-3-2, 18 KOs), as he won a one-sided unanimous decision in the main event of “The Ring: High Stakes” on DAZN PPV at T-Mobile Arena to become a world champion for the first time in his career. The win was also Garcia’s first since 2023.
Garcia hit the ground running, dropping Barrios 23 seconds into the fight with an overhand right. His advantages in speed and power were immediately evident and became the theme of the fight, as he consistently landed flush shots.
The 27-year-old from California rocked Barrios twice in the fifth round, but couldn’t find the fight-ending blow. Garcia said he hurt his right hand in the sixth or seventh round, but still managed to outbox the 30-year-old San Antonio native down the stretch and coasted to the final bell.
“My speed was on point,” Garcia said. “My jab was on point. A lot of things were on point. I pretty much did what I was doing in camp to everybody. I realized that I'm really faster than everybody.
“‘Why am I even moving? I can stay right there [and] counter. Why do I need to move? I'm quick.’ When I'm in shape and on fire, I'm really quick.”
Garcia outlanded Barrios 185 to 106 in total punches and 103 to 43 in power shots, according to CompuBox. He won by scores of 120-107, 119-108 and 118-109.

Good win for Garcia.
Would love to see him fight Haney, Stevenson or Teo.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he does a match with Mayweather
Expected more from Barrios but not surprised it wasn't much of a fight.. especially after that 1st round Knockdown.
