Lightweight Division

Post by Taansend »

Could be a good year or two for this division if the right fights get made.

Now that Tank has spiralled into shite we have several good fighters who will be battling for top dog.

Raymond Muratalla 24-0 came through a great defence against super amateur Andy Cruz.

Abdullah Mason looks fantastic & showed his mettle against Sam Noakes. I think Mason fights Cordina next. Whether that's in the US (when was the last big fight in Cleveland?) or he goes to the UK (Cardiff stadium?) we shall see.

Noakes showed that he's world class in his close loss to Mason. Him & Valenzuela would be a cracking fight.

Jadier Herrera has looked fantastic thus far but I've been burnt by Cubans before.

Zepeda looked like the 2nd coming of JC Chavez until he ran into Farmer & he looked a bit clueless in those bouts. However, he made Shakur stay alert for the whole 12 rounds. Him & Noakes would also be a cracking bout.

Speaking of Farmer, he got destroyed by Floyd "My Masseuse is a Spy" Schofield in 1 round.

Edwin De Los Santos finally had a fight but needs a busy 2026.

Bell & Bahdi have an eliminator. There's several other good bouts to be made. So far nothing big announced for this year but hopefully it picks up soon.

love me some billy zepeda, ya he wasnt great vs farmer but he won both and everyone has off nights. muratalla didnt do much better vs farmer, he only won 6-4

man rocked shakur briefly, better than most can do. 100 punches a round baby. utterly insane he averaged like 130 over 12 rounds vs jo jo diaz :bag:

Hopefully he gets a good fight soon.

He looked like a star until Cabrera. Not so much since

tbf i think he did as well against shakur as pretty much anyone did, far better than teo

but he needs to be matched with a more fan friendly style. pretty much any of the guys you mentioned would be good funs, preferably one of the more offensive minded guys
