Joe Frazier vs Andrew Golota
Joe Frazier vs Andrew Golota
15/Hwy, who wins?
Re: Joe Frazier vs Andrew Golota
Frazier is definitely going to break Golota's will some kinda way. Whether it's a DQ win or a KO win it's hard to imagine anything but a Frazier victory here.

Frazier would eat him alive. Golota quits on his stool after two rounds.

I don't think it'd be quite that fast, but I agree with the sentiment that Frazier eats him alive. He often took about 3 rounds to really get "Smokin" though.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑25 Feb 2026, 05:09 Frazier would eat him alive. Golota quits on his stool after two rounds.
Re: Joe Frazier vs Andrew Golota
I feel like Frazier would give Golota a Brewster-type treatment.
Re: Joe Frazier vs Andrew Golota
I thought the same, but Frazier would land heavy punches on the body and head including his big left hooks to make Golota quit on his stool after 5 rounds.
Re: Joe Frazier vs Andrew Golota
I was at the Brewster -Golota fight.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a high level fighter get in the ring looking more mentally unprepared than Golota. He had this wide eyed , almost scared look.
No perspiration either. Just looked disinterested or something.
I said to the guy sitting next to me “ he looks out of it. Brewster should jump right on him. Sure enough, ko one.
Anyway, Frazier would annihilate that guy.

If I recall, Golota was actually bookie's favourite before the Brewster fight. This needs to be clarified, though. But what's certain is that Andrew was going thru arguably the best phase of his career at the time. He had a strong case for winning both Byrd and Ruiz fights.

Smokin' Joe Frazier's pressure and lethal left hook to the jaw (and I mean repeatedly), would crumble Andrew Golota. Different class!
