Conor Benn to fight Regis Prograis on April 11, Tyson Fury-Arslanbek Makhmudov undercard

Conor Benn’s first fight as Zuffa Boxing’s highest-profile signing will be against Regis Prograis at welterweight on the undercard of Tyson Fury-Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.

The revelation that the Englishman, 29, was leaving Matchroom for Zuffa sent shockwaves through the sport beyond that which is justifiable given his relative limitations, and despite reports that Zuffa invested eight figures to secure his services for a solitary date he will fight a once-fine junior welterweight who has convincingly lost two of his past three contests and is widely considered significantly past his peak.

Benn lost and won middleweight contests with Chris Eubank Jnr in 2025, but his expected return to welterweight at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would represent a return to the weight division in which he has inexplicably been ranked first by the WBC.

Prograis, 37, previously fought in London in 2019, when he narrowly lost to Scotland’s Josh Taylor in a junior-welterweight unification contest while he remained at his ferocious best. Benn, incidentally, stopped Steve Jamoye in four rounds on their undercard.

“April 11th can’t come soon enough – returning to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again, where I made history against Eubank Jnr means everything to me,” Benn said. “My last fight there showed the world exactly who I am and what I’m about. Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest shows, I fear no one. I’m fully locked in and ready to deliver another statement performance.”

“Last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my undercard, so this is a full-circle moment for me,” said the former junior-welterweight champion. “But this circle will close with me teaching him a lesson on April 11th. He’s not fighting some weight-drained super middleweight. I am in shape and will bring home this victory.”

Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis to be on Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov undercard

Conor Benn to fight two-time light welterweight champion Regis Prograis on Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov undercard at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 11; first fight since Benn ended Matchroom Boxing association to sign with new promoter Zuffa Boxing

Conor Benn will fight Regis Prograis on the undercard of Tyson Fury's April 11 bout with Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The announcement follows Benn's industry-shaking decision to sever ties with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing and join Zuffa, the new promotion run by UFC boss Dana White.

Benn's first fight under new management will see him return to the scene of his victory over Chris Eubank Jr to take on two-time light welterweight world champion Prograis (30-3, 24 KOs).

Benn said: "April 11 can't come soon enough, returning to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again, where I made history against Eubank Jr means everything to me.

"My last fight there showed the world exactly who I am and what I'm about. Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest shows, I fear no one! I'm fully locked in and ready to deliver another statement performance."

Two of Prograis' three losses as a professional have come on English soil in world title fights against Josh Taylor in 2019 and Jack Catterall in 2024.

Prograis added: "Last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my undercard, so this is a full-circle moment for me.

"But this circle will close with me teaching him a lesson on April 11. He's not fighting some weight-drained super middleweight. I am in shape and will bring home this victory."

The fight itself isn't that crazy. If it was letting Benm get used to making Welterweight again, beat a guy with somewhat of a name and a nice record and then take the big fight for a Welterweight title later in the year.

But when you're signing one fight deals for huge money, this just doesn't add up.

Conor Benn to fight Regis Prograis on Tyson Fury undercard

Conor Benn will fight American Regis Prograis on the undercard of Tyson Fury's return in London on April 11, it has been confirmed.

Benn (24-1, 14 KOs) last week left Eddie Hearn's Matchroom to sign a one-fight deal with Dana White's Zuffa Boxing, with former two-time junior welterweight world champion Prograis (30-3, 24 KOs) now confirmed as his opponent.

The fight will form the co-main event of Fury's return against Arslanbek Makhmudov at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April. The event will be promoted by Zuffa and Ring Magazine and will be streamed live on Netflix globally.

Benn last fought in November at Tottenham, beating Chris Eubank Jr. in their rematch after losing the first bout in April.

The 29-year-old had said he wanted to challenge for the WBC title, calling for a fight with Ryan Garcia, while he was also called out by Shakur Stevenson, who beat Teofimo Lopez in January.

However, Benn will now return under the Zuffa banner against Prograis, who has lost two of his last three bouts to Brit Jack Catterall and Devin Haney.

Why sign him on a one-fight deal. Pay him over £10m and give him Netflix exposure?

For what?

Gotta be more to this.

That's with Fwank suing them, strangest thing.

I'm guessing that this isn't the $10m fight and this is a separate additional fight that has been offered. A 37 year old with a 1-2 record in his last 3 fights with the one win coming against a guy that's 3-7-1 in his last 11 is definitely a Benn type of opponent. They'll bill him as a former champ that nearly beat Josh Taylor or something like that.

I also didn't realise that Zuffa had total control promoting this instead of Frank. Frank losing Fury to Zuffa whilst suing them?

That could be a one fight deal for the big fight then they chuck in an extra, smaller contract or within the same contract for another fight before as a warm up if he wanted it. It's possible but I just can't believe they'd pay him that much money for this. UFC fighters must be furious.

It's an underwhelming opponent, but far from a foregone conclusion for a clean Benn. Riddle me that.

It doesn’t work like that. This will have to be the one fight as Matchroom had matching rights in his deal.

Crazy fight for TKO/Turki to pay Benn $15m for.

They have to feed Benn with fodder, it's the only way to be relevant and secure a world title shot.

It's going to be hard to matchmake Benn with a decent opponent without losing money.

It's a matchmaker perfect opponent, and a promotion dream to help fill a stadium, build exposure and secure world title dreams.

Bit harsh, def wouldn’t say he was poor at his prime, although obviously not elite level. Gave Taylor a hard fight.

I think he got way overhyped because Taylor was way overhyped. He's not a guy that was ever hard to outbox. Taylor having a tough fight with him says more about Taylor than Prograis for me. Prograis doesn't know what to do with good movers. Even that Zorilla guy realistically won almost every round and got robbed.

Benn to fight Prograis on Fury undercard

Britain's Conor Benn will fight Regis Prograis on the undercard of Tyson Fury's comeback fight on 11 April.

Benn recently signed with Dana White's Zuffa Boxing in a one-fight deal reportedly worth about £11m.

Benn, 29, will be the co-main event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

"Last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my undercard, so this is a full-circle moment for me," said American former light-welterweight world champion Prograis.

"But this circle will close with me teaching him a lesson.

"He's not fighting some weight-drained super middleweight. I am in shape and will bring home this victory."

Fury is signed to allegedly's Queensberry, but TKO president Mark Shapiro said on Wednesday that Zuffa Boxing will promote the fight, which will be shown on Netflix.

Prograis, 37, is a former world champion at light-welterweight, but has two losses in his past three outings, including to Jack Catterall and Devin Haney.

Benn's most recent outing was in November when he defeated Chris Eubank Jr in a rematch.

Both bouts against Eubank were at middleweight, but Benn intends to campaign at welterweight as he seeks to earn a world title shot.

"My last fight there showed the world exactly who I am and what I'm about," he said.

"Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest shows, I fear no-one."

Fury, who has not fought since losing to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024, will fight Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov.
