You'd have to assume based on how their fight went, that if it had simply been in an indoor arena the result would've been different.
That being said, the old timers who would defend Joey Maxim by saying "What? He wasn't hot too?" are making a fair point.

Maybe the weight class was too big for Sugar Ray Robinson. I will go with the bigger man Joey Maxim.

Robinson gets off to a big lead again, and Maxim gives him some anxious moments in the late rounds, but Sugar Ray hangs on for about a 9-6 win, then turns down a title defense against Archie Moore for obvious reasons.
